All what you read on here is a matter of opinion. Everyone has their own view, like "selfishness", "lazy lover", "cheating", "fetish", "fantasy", "inadequate", "unsatisfied", "morally wrong", "addicted", "a quick release" "variety" etc. There isn't one explanation why men do it. In my opinion, is that the majority of men out there do prefer the real deal. You have nothing to worry about, your bf is normal. If you really want to know, talk to your bf about it, when he is ready to.....ask for HIS own opinion. A bunch of stranger can only guess.

Yes, too much porn is bad. I really prefer my girlfriend. We are very compatible. But you make it sounds like men are the ONLY problem. And I would disagree about that.

I've heard a few bad things about trends for people currently in their 20s. Businesses complain they come out of college but still aren't educated. They are not dedicated to their work. They don't take initiative. They are lazy. They don't have ideas. They work only to party on the weekends. They lack self control (kind of links to the porn issue, and drug use, like ecstasy, I think is more common with young people.)

The youth of today is no different with youth from centuries ago and the older more mature that complain about them. Porn has been around since ancient times. Then it is seen in art object such as jugs, and worshiped gods, frescoes, and graffiti on Roman buildings. In the Victorian age there were flip cards, postcards and photographs. Dear friends there is nothing new under the sun, human nature is still the same, the only difference is technology has given us better access to it.

I was told no. Masturbation is just convenient when having the other isn't, especially when there's a house full of kids, or visiting guests, or your partner says "no not now honey I have a headache".

I've never had an orgasm with a girl but I can always get one by masturbating. So, physically I enjoy it more.
But it doesn't compare with the real thing emotionally or psychically.
Luckily, I don't have to choose between them since I have higher sex drive than any girl I've met.

Sex = Spontaneous, takes time and effort, more enjoyable, 'mood' is important, lots of intimacy.

Single, couple or married, guys still tend to watch porn from time to time, and as I clarify above, it's not necessarily because the sex life is insufficient, the two just fulfill needs that only sometimes overlap, and stressful working lives can be serious mood killers.

As a female, I completely agree with this. In two senses:
1) the two equations (minus the "porn" part - I tend to rely on my imagination) work for me as a female;
2) I think the two equations work for the guys as well. Including the fact that sex is "more enjoyable". Which is why I was a bit perplexed when I read that preferring porn over sex is "selfish". It somehow implies that for some men porn+masturbation is more enjoyable than sex. I don't quite understand it.

I watch porn - and I probably would still watch it sometimes even if I was in a relationship and could get sex every day for the reason I've stated in an earlier reply which is not 'need of variety'. Despite watching porn however, I've not been subjecting any women to inadequate stimulation of their sensual zones for centuries - I've never heard complaints at least. In fact, "what are your erogenic zones" is one of the first questions I ask a girl if I may have a chance to have sex with her. For some reason, most women aren't smart enough to tell what they want unless (sometimes even if) you ask.
