Of course, what you say is true. I just feel that some lawyers are purely in for the money and will even defend a serial murderer (even if they know they are guilty) regardless of morals. I suppose someone has to, yes, but I'd like to see more lawyers who would refuse to represent someone in that situation, and I'm sure some already exist.
I think that your goodself, along with many others in this thread have at most a very thin understanding of the the role of the defense lawyer. For starters If the lawyer knows that the client is guilty then he has precisely 2 options:Quote:

They defend anybody no matter who it is. They are just in it for the money.
