Here's the latest that me and cyborgguineapig worked on today in class.
Software is Maya 6.5. I did the modeling and he did the texturing. This is for an animatic/short animation we are working on, where an explorer gets lost inside that cave and finds a beast that follows him out and winds up killing his ass.
It's crunch time, so we should be done within another couple weeks or so. So far so good. Should look pretty sweet when the animation is finished.

Hey thats some pretty nice work there! I pass stonehenge when travelling to London from Cornwall quite alot. :)
By the way, have you ever used GMAX or FSDS2 for modelling? I often repaint planes for flight simulator 2002/2004, and work with a group that have made numerous aircraft models in GMAX and FSDS2.

My mom and sisters just went to Stonehedge on Monday... they got to go inside and walk around, etc.

No Pilot I haven't. I've heard of both of those though!
There are a ton of 3d programs out there though. Our school is pretty much set on pushing the main two with the idea that no matter what we pick up after this it will be somewhat close to whatever it is we learned from Max and Maya.
For example, this is my first ever scene I have made in Maya, and so far it's coming along alright for a first timer, especially when you have an old school texturer like Guineapig!

hehe Well, if you ever fancy it, try giving GMAX and FSDS2 a go :) If you ever require advice or assistance with the modelling or texturering I could put you into contact with some people I work on flight simulation projects with. They are a bunch of easy going guys and i'm sure if you wanted help they would be happy to give you advice.

i tried 3ds max like 2 years ago(when i wasnt quite as sophisticated with computers) and i couldnt make heads or tails from it..lol

What do you guys use to texture models? How do you figure out the texture mapping...etc?
