I guess I'll try again later. I only lay it on the line for very few broads..
Actually, there's nothing wrong with waiting a day or so and trying AGAIN with this one. Start with some sort of sincere flattery - "I'm really picky, and out of all the profiles on here, yours was the only one that's caught my eye. I'd really like to get to know you a little more, even if it doesn't work out.
You try again and I'll change my signature line. :P
DO NOT try with her again. I know if someone emailed me and I didn't respond, the last thing I'd want is another one from him. You want someone who is keen. If she's read it then leave it be and let her come to you. If she doesn't, then eff her and the horse she rode in on... her loss.
And quit being so GD picky. You can't afford to be. Pick a girl who won't intimidate you like this one did. A down to earth, attractive yet not flashy person.. just like yourself.. Capice?
... And keep it short. I've read from a thousand women that the long emails are not attention getting. In other words don't be sending missives the way I post... :D lolzzz
^It's a deal! May I suggest "Owned by Love'sReject"?
Lol.Quote:

Anyway, the pickiness is purely about things in common, which means having to sift through profiles until the occasional girl pops up who also likes those things..
Wakeup - Persistence sometimes works out. I suggested waiting a day or so, so he doesn't look so desperate.
LR - I'll put that up as a signature line the day you "own" me.
Have you not ever heard of introducing one another to your likes? If that's what you've been doing all this time, just hitting on girls just like yourself, then no wonder your last interaction of any meaning with a girl was so long ago.Quote:

Don't cut your options (to email) into next to nothing by only emailing people that are exactly into only what you're into. It's insane to do that to yourself. Don't hit on someone who wants to ride naked on horseback down the centre of Orange county on a horse.. but do hit on the ones that look like they'd be willing to ride a bike or go to a hockey game or where you wouldn't mind learning how to tango (as e.g. ;))
Eh, I'm just going to let this one go. I don't really much believe in sending a second message; I imagine that's a pet peeve for pretty much all attractive girls who always get second messages when they didn't much like the first.
His call of course but I'm more convinced even after a day or two, he'll be taken as being annoying and then she'll likely block him and he'll be back to square one in his fear of rejection.Quote:

Hang on a second... are you sure she's read it? I don't remember being able to tell that on OkCupid. Been a while though, so I could be wrong.
OK, so today I guess a girl expressed interest....I'm interested, too, so like yesterday, I want to send a message. Having trouble with that first again, this time because the profile says considerably less. Might actually be better, not sure yet...
She was a "Visitor" this morning...Seems extremely likely that she read it and checked out my profile after..Quote:

How did she express interest?Quote:

Ahhh... ok. That makes sense.
OK, there's this feature "Quickmatch": rating a user 1-5 stars and if one is rated highly then one receives an e-mail saying so..Soooo yeah, that happened this morning.Quote:

Does anyone else feel like Cyrano De Bergerac? :)
Just remember if it looks too good to be true, it probably is...Quote:

But go for it.
Get 'em, boy!
Prior deal still stands.
Lol...Difference is, it's only the first message I need help with. I can take care of it myself beyond that and hence no need for a ghost writer/Cyrano de Bergerac at that point..
BTW, did you see the surprisingly funny, faithful Steve Martin adaptation?
Tell you what, the way Quickmatch works, they pretty much rate you purely on looks. That alone should tell you how wrong you are about your appearance. Message her, tell her that you like what you've seen so far, and you'd like to get to know her better.Quote:

Just tell her thanks for the "poke" or whatever the heck they call it" and then make the rest of your email (brief) focused on whatever it is that caught your eye about her. Then leave it with a question or something that she can respond to. It's just like having a conversation through the written word.
... Yes, love Steve. :)
Hm...I'm leaning towards doing that..How would I phrase that and would that really leave room to keep a conversation going?Quote:

Wakeup's suggestion is a good one. If you leave her with a question, she'll feel obligated to answer it.
Start with something along the lines of what I said, end with something asking about her profile/activities , and relate it to something in your profile.
OK, so what is the best message I could send? Not general stuff; I need the entire body of the message. She didn't list the specific things she likes in terms of music or films but did say she wants to be an actress,,,
Ask her if she's interested in being a porn actress, because you like porn, and then you will have something in common. lolQuote:

Nah, I'm really not interested in playing Cyrano D'Bergerac...
but tell you what - you write something and I'll vet it for you.
.....ohhh my lord...Quote:

OK, I'll take a few notes from here and type it. I just can't believe I enlisted the best there is (HIA and WakeUp) and STILL FAILED last time around..
Do you know that some Brazilian girl got $780,000 by auctioning off her virginity? We should auction yours off, too.
Yes. Yes. Shall we start the bidding at, say, $5?
Some boy got $3,000. Don't sell yourself cheap. You are cuter than he is.
Saw in UK newspaper girl who was selling her for 2k. I wouldnt give even 2 punds - she looked like a wanker.
Can you put yourself on Ebay?
Nope. eBay doesn't allow that since it is technically prostitution..It violates their terms.
.....$100.
LOL you become expensive. From 5 to 100 in few minutes. I wonder how much you cost after a longer while. Like 99 year old virgin.
Hey, I'm just going by what vashti says.
What do you think about this when girls sells their hymen? Would you be ok to sex for money? If yes then how much should they pay you?
I actually wish I could just take you out as my wingman. I'd get ya laid. :D
That would be cool!
Anyway, so here I am, re-re-re-re-re-reading her profile, just trying to patch something together...
-actress (I am a former film major, very creative type still)
-reads dystopian novels (I've read all the greats, "We", "1984", "The Giver", "We the Living", "Anthem")
-hikes and works out (I bike a shit ton and am in the works of getting some home gym equipment)
-doesn't even hint at what kind of music she likes so this is a decent avenue, it would seem..
