I dunno how anyone can stomach those sorry excuses for meals. My boyfriend eats them occasionally and it makes me cringe.

My dog is driving me freaking crazy. I love her so much, but she's getting pretty old and I think she's getting a bit daft. She wanders in and out of the house, which gets the floors three times dirtier than usual, and tends to just walk into a room and stand there, right in the way, looking confused. She used to lay down by the kitchen table while I was cooking, but now she just stands in the middle of the room until I walk her over to the table and make her lay down. Oh poor thing. She's got doggie dementia, sounds like.

Our cat is getting old too. She's started doing random things like yakking inside the house which she never did in the first decade of her life. At least she's polite enough to do it on the wood and not the rugs.

Is she any older than you, in cat years?

If so, it's time to put her in a retirement home.

Doing battle over whether or not my kid will add yet another medication to her regime, and pretending that I am not worried by the side effects profile. :(

I haven't started yakking on the floor yet, if that's what you mean. I've been thinking of getting her a young male kitten to keep her young. Worked for me.

Boyfriend texted me at the end of my shift asking me not to come over tonight. He said he needs some alone time. I figured he would. Still sucks though. I called him and simply asked that he not resign himself to a conclusion without talking to me first. He said he wasn't sure what there was to talk about. I asked him to please keep an open mind, and to please not shut me out. He said he would try his best with the former, and that he certainly would not shut me out. He also said that he's not mad at me, in fact, he's very proud of me. He's going to take the weekend to do some thinking.

I hate this. I drove home in tears. After I parked in front of my house, I spent 30 minutes in my car sobbing uncontrollably. I wish my mother were here. I just want to collapse into her lap so she can stroke my hair like she used to.

There is actually medication that helps with dementia (in both dogs and cats) if she gets really bad and that is all that is wrong with her, it might be worth giving them a try. We had quite a few dogs and cats come in that were suffering from dementia- it got so bad some were having night tremors but the medication helped alot.
