What does 'floss' mean?
I've read this thread in upper amazement! I've never flossed my teeth in my life and my dentist never even recommended it. I can't even floss: I have this metal threads glued to the back of my teeth, to keep them in place after having braces... Those things disable flossing... I do use toothpicks though, because I can pick between my gums and the threads... But I think none of my friends and family members floss, never seen any of them doing it.. Maybe it's an American only thing? :P (I apologise beforehand if you're not all American who posted in here ;))
Your orthodontist was supposed to show you how to floss. It is a little more complicated with that semi-permanent retainer in place, but it can (and definitely SHOULD) be done.
yup, they give you that little plastic loopy thing that is supposed to grab the dental floss. i used to have braces before.
raverboy
I'm clueless on how to :PQuote:

Anyone!?
You have to thread the floss underneath the wire, and then floss on top of the wire separately. Once you have had that wire on for a year or two, your regular dentist can remove it, which will make flossing much easier. In the meantime, even if you can only manage to do it a couple of times per week, that is better than nothing.
