I was thinking the same thing...Neo, you've always seemed so emotionally strong, I was suprised to see this thread.

However, that said, I know you will recover from this without too much hurt. You obviously have a good enough head on your shoulders to recognize the incompatibility early, and not try to drag things out just so you could 'have someone'. You have to go through a lot of these experiences to find the right one....so just look at this as another step closer to your perfect girl.

And not having a car, come on man, you know it's just an excuse. You know you'd date if they were interested (which I'm sure they are). So go for it! Play the field. Most girls out there who are interested are interested in a committed relationship as well.

i think the getting attached to whoever will accept you is where you have the issue.

there's two big things going on here. first off you're getting attached. girls don't really want a guy to attach themselves to her right away.

secondly, if/when they decided they wanted to be "attached" she doesn't want it to be with a guy who is only holding on because she is the only one that would accept him and not someone who he holds in high standards and regard.

i thought you were like, picky or something.

anyway, you should just try being friends with girls. different girls. so you can not get attached to one.

also, why don't you have a car? how do you get around? not having a car is really a silly excuse to not talk to girls.

You know what else I found, girls for some reason like to hear stories about how easily you can pick up other girls if you want to. It makes them curious. It makes them wonder what is it others like in you that they could be getting

Yesterday at work I was telling my co-workers about this girl who came up to me at uni, put her hands on my shoulders and told me how awesome she thought my presentation was and how easily she gave me her details. I've noticed these girls suddenly started competing for my attention.


I've noticed a good attitude to have is "A guy is as free as a bird, he is there for interaction and conquest, he moves with the wind and his will at any moment, the world is there to be conquered for him, the girl is there to snatch that guy, to attach him to herself, to ensnare him and his qualities, to keep them for herself and for genetic reproduction to pass on the best dominant qualities to the her future generations. If you find a girl like that who is worthy of you and who will do everything she can to keep you from your many conquests then because you're good and fair you will do her a favor and settle for her. But until that time and until that day you're out there for nothing but conquests and all the glory that these bring to you as a dominant male" :)

update: It's been almost 2 weeks since we broke up, and I already feel much better. I would say that I'm 90% over her. I've started talking to other girls (I didn't feel like talking to any before). I also made a really good friend who has been like a big brother to me.

misombra, I don't have a car b/c my parents never bought me one and I couldn't afford it either. I didn't have a job while in college. So I didn't have any money saved up after I graduated. However, I've been working for about a year now and I'm financially ready to buy a car. I hope to get one soon.

well i would recommend staying away from girls until you have those things that you want and will make you more confident.

it's much better than just being with anyone who has a car and is willing to pick you up.

1) It was mutual, why do you care all that much?

2) Go hang out with friends so you can laugh and forget?
