Grow up Chump and take my comments for what they are: about as objective and intelligent an analysis you'll likely ever get and certainly more thoughtful than any of the women you've ever interacted with, sounds like.
But, do not mistake me for someone who gives a damn. I just analyzed the data you provided. You are getting defensive, likely b/c you suspect I am correct. Your gibbering inner-monkey is your own to have a closer look at when you are ready to, or not. Shrug.
If I would compare a person that I would under normal circumstances date for actual interest to someone i would meet at a club and just wanna hook up with because I'm hammered, that answer can very for anyone lol;) but in all seriousness, as long as your in a better position then you previously were in i consider it an upgrade. I.E. she cooks for u all the time and u never had that in a relationship before(upgrade), she looks hot and is a freak in bed, maybe not the freakest but something about what she does drives you wild(upgrade), the list can go from personality traits to superficial stuff that in the end don't mean ish. So to be frank, as long as you are happy in your current situation then you were, then its an upgrade.
what is the point in downgrading, just lowers you self confidence/esteem. You always look for someone better.
i cant say i downgrade my there are always pros and cons. lets put it this way the hot girls that i dated are not that successful and smart. The average girls that i dated are smarter than then hot girls.
Not everyone upgrades. There is a situation in my own life presenting itself right now that would be somewhat of a downgrade. When similar situations present themselves to others they often take it out of desperation.
Make sure you're taking all scores into account, Graham. Your ex may have deserved an A+ in looks and passion, she got an F in nice and reasonable. Her GPA isn't so hot, really.

Good looks are fairly common, good personality is uncommon, but a girl who has those 2 and is loyal to you is perhaps the rarest. Those things are all subjective though so I guess I can see how people find it hard to grade others when they meet someone great and fall in love or something.Quote:

For instance, let's say there exists 10 people in the world and 5 are men and 5 are women. Guy number 1 is so attractive (overall attractiveness not physical attractiveness) that 3/5 women choose him as their first choice. Girl number 1 is also so attractive that 4/5 of the men would choose her as their first choice. You can see that clearly they have an upper hand in who to choose as their bf/gf since almost everyone likes them. Hell, I bet they chose each other and then the 2nd best choices paired off and so on and so forth until everyone is paired. You might have things like 4th best guy pairs off with 3rd best girl, but generally, there exists some kind of grading system and partners tend to be equal in value.

You forgot to factor in Self Esteem. I've watched both guys and girls NOT go for that no.1 person because they had low self esteem and didn't think they could keep no.1 or something to that effect. Your simulation fails.
