LoveLisa
From what it seems you are still experiencing post-break-up-depression.
You have just accepted that you won't ever be with your ex again but you are struggling being a single woman.
I am sorry you don't benefit from a strong family support. It means that you are gooing to have to go through this bad patch on your own mainly.
What you need now, and you know it, is a job. Anything that will keep you busy and lead you to socialise. Since your mood is so low I would even consider to get busy over week ends too.
You can't go around feeling sorry for yourself...there are always work available in restaurants, bars, cafes, baby sitting, nursing, cleaning...ok these are no high profile jobs but it's honest work.
Once you have this sorted you'll be surrounded by people (hopefully...I mean don't go looking for a job where you'll be secluded) and gradually even if you don't feel like it at first...you will soon join in the general atomosphere and make friends.
For now I would suggest you forget about men....you are in no shape at all to sustain a relationship...you should be looking for buddies, friends...
In my opinion you seem rather picky with who you want to be friends with. You go on about men and having a male friend. You also make it clear that you don't want to hang out with old people. Well let me tell you there are some wonerful women out there and older people who could make absolutely amazing and supportive friends.
To avoid loneliness you should come up with some strategies:
joining an association for volunteer work, joining a library (there will always be someone to talk to at least at the desk), visiting museums, joining walking clubs (your snickers will come handy), going to the park, attending conferences...
Let us know how the job hunting goes...
WTH, I didn't say anything about not liking old people, you need to look at the names on the posts before you comment!!!!!!:emot100:Quote:
