If any of you actually did some research on the subject, you'd find that it is actually the source of quite a heated debate. You're all free to have your opinions, but apparently, not everybody agrees with them, including legal entities.
I'll post a link later, but there was a case either in the U.S. or the U.K. where this lady (a photographer) published nude pictures of her children. Although people raised a fuss about it, legally, she was in the clear.
Even in the U.S., the legal "line" is blurry. A picture of a nude child is legal. A picture of a child (clothed or not) having sex is illegal. A picture of a nude child in a sexually suggestive pose may or may not be illegal, depending. The gray area is due to it being a matter of opinion as to whether or not a pose is sexually suggestive.
My parents had a picture of me taken as a baby. It was one of those "nude baby" pictures. If all child nudity were illegal in a black-and-white manner as you guys say it is, then my parents would have gone to prison for that picture.
I'm not saying that's the same thing as the art my BF possesses, but although they are gruesome and have nudity, none of them are blatantly sexual.
