It's funny...today, I was driving to lunch with a bunch of my friends. One of them jokes that I'm the only single guy in the car...we all have a good laugh (they're all engaged or in serious long-term relationships), and then, two of them note, at the same time, how much happier I've been in the past month.
That shocked me. Then, I've realized, despite the pain I've felt, I've had more *fun* in the past month than I've had in quite some time.
Weird.

I have a good friend who founded a still popular genocide foundation, you might recognize him...Quote:

You don't need to lie to us, you might as well just put it all out there.Quote:

C'mon, I'm sure there are groups of people you hold some prejudices towards, c'mon.
C'mooooon.
It's time for you to share now.
This one is still timid.
I think I might like someone now, too. That's not good news.
Walked into her store today (department store she works at), and she lit up when she saw me...
Need to avoid THAT situation.
Yeah, you're still weak, I'd hold off for a while.Quote:

Just throwin' that out there.
Interesting.Quote:

Damn, Frasbee - you leave a comment like that overnight without explaining yourself? Harsh.
Mathias, I think you look like the clean-cut, athletic boy next door. If you were the right age, I would probably let you date my daughter (if you didn't piss me off). I would threaten to kill you if you touched her, though.
Haha Choi. I thought the same about that Wasian member, forgot his name. He used to be Tones chimp and I was right, he was a douche.
Yikes.Quote:

If I was the right age? I'm 24...why wouldn't I be old enough?
She said "right" age. Her daughters age could be anything.
Ah.
BTW--quick update. Found one of her things today, that she thought she had lost. It's worth a decent amount of money. I finally got my grandmother's stuff back, but she still has stuff of mine (which I know is gone forever) that's worth a lot....
Oh, well, time to be the bigger man here.
Also, the other girl I had mentioned earlier yesterday...I'm starting to think she likes me too. I'm horrible at reading the signs of this crap, and honestly, I shouldn't even be thinking about it right now, but it's getting to the point where I'm even realizing it.
Bah. This is going to be a good weekend, though. Get together tonight, where I get to meet a good friend's girlfriend, drinks tomorrow night, Halloween party Friday night, and the game on Saturday.
Again, at least I'm busy. I did feel a little bit of anger today, though, when I found her possession. It just reminded me of how much I did for her, and how little she ever did for me. Ugh.
I'm getting even more comments about how much happier I've been in the last month. One day at a time, I guess.

Ya look like them jocked out yuppies.
Just a prejudice of mine.

When you have a daughter some day, you will learn to appreciate boys that look like this. It beats the tatooed, lip-pierced, tongue-pierced, makeup wearing boys any day.
I have prejudices towards them too.Quote:

I like the kind of guy I am, naturally.
I'm hard to come by y'know, I'd be pleased if my daughter found a guy like me.
All men say that. :DQuote:

Aaaand tonight was a bad night.
I don't know. I feel like everything's going fine, and something else hits. Today, it was the insecurity of someone who put everything into four years, just to have it blow up for no apparent reason. But, I did make a decision tonight.
It's a one year moratorium. Since I was 14 years old, I've been a chronic dater. I've never been single for a consecutive year. Since I was dumped on my birthday, it's easy. Nothing even resembling a relationship will happen until at least my 25th birthday.
It's Mathias's year. I have 11 months left. Time to get past everything, then I can really enjoy the last 3/4 of my life.
Chronic dater, eh?
Damn, you're the exact opposite of me.
I have too much Choi-time.
Not for the next 11 months. ;)Quote:

Seriously, had a blast last night...and even though it's been a rough couple of days emotionally, I'm STILL getting the comments that I'm happier than I've ever been.
Halloween party tonight. I'm Ron Burgandy. I'll drunk-post if I remember when I get home.
Who is Ron Burgandy?
By the way, for the guys who might be going through similar situations and reading this...
The best thing you can do for yourself right now? Get in shape.
Seriously. I was at 195, I got down to 170 (the healthy way), and I'm now up to 175, building muscle.
It makes you feel better about yourself...you feel like a new person, it attracts women...and most importantly, it's something you should be doing anyway.
And as I've been hinting, even with all the parties this weekend, it's been a tough weekend. But, hey, one day at a time, my friends.

I used to be a television anchor before I switched careers, so it fit.
Really? Aren't you kind of young to have been an anchorman?
Yes, and apparently I wasn't.Quote:

Screw them. :)
By the way, despite the things that are wrong with me right now...being single kind of kicks ass. I'm pretty close to having a FWB deal, and I've gotten three phone numbers in the past month, including a grade school teacher's. Seriously...that's been on the list for YEARS.
This is going to be a fun year.
Please remember that stands for ****ing Weird Bullshit.Quote:

I stress.
BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE FWB'S.
Yeah, Mathias is kind of edging backwards from that. Casual dating might be in action soon, though.
Good days lately. Getting out, having fun...and not thinking about it.
Rehashing that story really got to me, though. That was intense...and I think it caused most of the emotion I've been feeling lately. Again, it's not about her...it's about me. I know that, and strangely, that helps. I know I can change myself.
Now, the question is how.
So, why haven't I posted in a week?
I'm damn well near over it. I don't wake up upset anymore, I don't have trouble sleeping, and I rarely think about it.
It's amazing. The last long relationship I was in took me about 4-5 months to get to this point, and that only lasted a little more than a year. The difference? This time, I didn't sulk. I went out, I reconnected with friends, and I decided that I wasn't going to put up with being unhappy.
That's made every difference in the world.
I love tits.
You're ruining the moment, dick. :DQuote:

You were saying... oh, yes. About not sulking. I think it's a good thing to practice in general, and especially impressive to pull off during post-breakup. I don't know if I could pull it off.
You may be putting some of it aside to process later, which I think might be a good idea. You'll have a very different prespective next year, anyway. I predict the next time you fall in love with someone, some of this breakup crap might rise to the surface. It'll be a good time to throw it out.
