Great Carlin quote, Indie. lolzzz
Speaking of wholehearted, am having another pseudo-procrastination day. I've been fighting a bug for a while but I can't quite let go enough to just sleep for 3 days... as I should.
It usually works for me to go exercise hard enough to get up a good sweat. Bug disappears.
Normally I would too, but my medico says my white cell count is below normal range so I don't think that's a good idea.
I could drink myself unconscious... that would be a rarity. Unfortunately, shagging like rabbits isn't an option right now either. Damn, this sucks.
Nyquil, maybe?
Just got home from school some time ago, so I'll address posts in just a sec because a hilarious development happened that doesn't help my situation at all: So the girl that messaged me first..It seems like there was a lot of interest on her part. Now I find out she's moving in a matter of months for sure. GRAND!
SO! You can get into her pants before then......
Lol....yeeeeah right. And Grizzly Adams had a beard!
This is an opportunity. There's a lot of interest on her part - take her out. Have fun, don't get attached, use it to get your confidence up.
If she wants to boink, do so, but wear a condom.
Have fun.
Hm...How do I suggest that, sound like a good sport about it and invite her out for fun?
As a matter of fact, I am curious about this message I've received and I'll demonstrate why: "I will be leaving in about three months..I don't want to start anything with anyone at this point - so if you are looking to start a relationship then I can't offer that at this time.."
Kinda cryptic, n'est-ce pas?
not to mention she may introduce you to her friends and there may be a girl in there that won't be moving away that shows interest in you. Even if there isn't, you could use a new group of friends as you say your old ones are all too busy. Expand your social circle, mang.
What else was in there besides what you quoted. Can we get it in context because it could mean she just wants to be friends (platonic or otherwise) or she could just be telling you because she got the impression that you wanted more than friends.Quote:

The complete quote is "I wanted to let you knew that things took a drastic change for me in the fact that my application to study abroad in Ireland has been accepted.,, so I will be leaving in about three months to head over there for six. With that being said I don't want to start anything with anyone at this point - so if you are looking to start a relationship then I can't offer that at this time.."
Ya duh.......
LOL...what does "Ya duh" mean?
Does she sound like she wants nothing, to be friends, FWB?
Everyone posted before it set....Ya duh have fun and if she boinks ya it's a win win. No relationship but who needs a relationship to have sex. Why is she on there? to find some bedtime fun you silly ass.
*nervously gulps* You mean, some girls actually do that? And this could be one of those instances? I'm scared.
Exactly. This is social networking - the way we did it before there was the intarwebz.Quote:

That's a clear invitation to "hang out and have fun" without entanglements. What that means with her, you'll have to figure out.Quote:

I suggest you say something along the lines of "I'm down for just hanging out and having fun. How would you feel about meeting for coffee" (or a milkshake, or whatevs.)
No fear, young Kwisatz Haderach.
Remember the litany against fear:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
Doooooo eeeeeet!
Courage is not the absence of fear - courage is facing your fear and doing something that scares you anyhow.
Can't win if you don't play.
You've got nothing to lose. If she says yes, you win. If she says no, shrug and move on - no harm no foul.
Tired of this yet? :D
ROFL. I was actually going to do it soon; just went to go get some candy. Major sugar rush after a long bike ride to school and back.
Sugar's bad for you, dude. Seriously bad for you.
'course, so is smoking and drinking, and I do both. Take from this what you will.
Just don't go confusing sex and love. B/c this is new to you, you are apt to confuse the two. Treat her like an interesting but not very compelling beach book. Saavy?
Hold on to your heart, no matter how awesome she seems. She is leaving before you start. That said, I have heard of people getting back together years later, b/c they kept it light at the time. Beware - getting clingy and needy will drive her away forever. Trust me on this: been there, done that one too. My ex (a few ago, not the last one) is a lawyer. Never married; in my part of the world even. But I never forgot how clingy he got at the end. It leaves an impression, LR.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh what kind?
Well, before I message her, I just wanted to ask: How do I also include something re: her leaving? Obviously that's important to her and it would be good to include something about it in my response, besides the invite?
Whoa whoa whoa...lol. Let's not get ahead of myself here; this might not even lead to sex, in fact, not likely. I haven't yet asked if she would still just like to go out and have fun.Quote:

Who cares about her leaving....just ask her out....you are getting too far ahead of yourself. Talk about it on the date silly.
Lol, yeah I am planning on that. But in my message doing so, I still want to include her, as in, show that I really read the message and think it's awesome that she's going abroad to study for a few months. Question is; HOW?
"That's really cool that you are going abroad to study. I'm totally down with just hanging and having fun while you're here. Would you like to meet over coffee?" (or whatever, blah blah blah).
You're still overthinking it. Just DO IT.
Maybe I'm underthinking it. Maybe my mind isn't wired to talk to girls, except in platonic or Friend Zone'ing manners...Maybe if I slap myself real good or fall while ice-skating one day it'll shuffle the synapses in my mind to work better when dealing with girls.
But yeah, I'll re-phrase that (hopefully not disastrously) so I can be sure you're not ghost-writing.
Synapses grow connections while doing new activities. FACT
To get better at it, you need to practice it.
LR you better not f uck this one up!
Pressure? Oh crap, I'm going to **** up for sure now. Besides, reading her profile...she's a SORORITY chick! Maybe I should hope she doesn't accept; otherwise, she might expect me to be loud, rambunctious and friendly with every damn person, a good dancer, an uber wit and a complete yuppie! I'm none of those things!
Are you asking me or LR a question, S?Quote:

Ya. Have you noticed I'm much less of a miserable, stuckup bitch now that I'm away from my ex?? ;)Quote:

Who cares, LR? Sororities are stupid anyway (you know I went to school in the states, right?). Pretend she's a member of a benign, if irritating, religious cult and just ignore that aspect of her bad judgement for now.Quote:

Actually, I had no idea you went to school here.
