I live two miles from a lake... there are about 10 different trails through the woods to get there. Half the people here do not have a fishing license... or hunting license for that matter. There's a subdivision called "NuWorld" that is about 10 miles out in the woods... I've only seen it twice when I was a kid... most everyone else thinks it's just a myth.

The population here is under 3000 people... at least I think... they're scattered about. One school, two eating places, two gas stations, one bank, and an all-in-one fire dept. and water company.... and that's about it.

That sounds like where I live, just that the lake is frozen over most of the year and instead of trails they're called iceroads.

I'm actually not offende by the use of th word cuz I'm not one.

There's a huge difference between a nigger and a black person.

i pay my rent at the end of the next month. that is ghetto.

Ah... censorship just gives more value to the word you're trying to phase out.

I think it's almost flattery for a race or nationality to have a slanderous nickname... at least you can say someone was thinking about you.

If you're a mixed breed like me, you get a whole slew of nicknames like, cracker, honky, jerry, kraut, coonass, and so on and so forth.

When you stop to think about it... why the hell are any of these words offensive? If anything, they sound like something children would come up with.

I see it as more of a class distinction.

I suppose that's true, I'm not a fan of censorship. I also believe that there is such a thing as reverse rasicm. I think any way you cut it, ignorance is not subject to races. An idiot can be any color, and he is not an idiot because of his color. I guess it's also different using it on a forum like this, as opposed to "real life" where more people would be subject to be offended and not accept a legit argument like this unless it comes from a person who is of color.

If I (white girl) were to start throwing the word around, and tried to say what you said, it wouldn't really matter, I'd still be labeled a bigot.

A word is just a word unless you give it a lot of power.
