I haven't seen D9 yet. I only just got caught up on the latest Terminator, which wasn't that good IMO.Quote:

District 9 is a very good film indeed - so i recommend that one.
But i prefer Avatar because it is visually stunning and has more love in it. Really you should see it - in 3D too :D
The soundtracks are also awesome - one of my favs is the Leona Lewis "I See You" and i recommend that you listen to that too :D

sorry, district 9.... Avatar is the movie of the year for 2009... :)
I saw Sherlock Holmes yesterday. Typical blockbuster stuff...
I bought "Inglourious Basterds" today and watched it. I LOVED it! Revenge fantasies are so satisfying! Yes, it is violent, but I guess I am immune.
You are being kind. SH sucked. Gribble, I owe you a beer, man, you were right. :PQuote:

I saw today some oldies liiike : City of Angels,Ghost,Cast Away ... All are the best ,tears makers but so beautiful at the same time.
hehe about Cast Away, I always want to cry when he loses Wilson in the sea :D It's so ridiculous but so sad at the same time...
They both are visually stunning but I liked District 9's more graphic and hardcore realism. I thought the entire Aladdin in space love story was a bit corny but no surprise from the guy who made Titanic. I liked the movie just didn't seem...plausibly real. I love the documentary feeling of District 9.
Even biologically avatar was more phony cause what are the chances that an entire evolutionary chain creates a copy earth with basically minor detailes changed. I mean the animals were so familiar I figured he was on earth fighting hyenas in that one scene. The Navi or whatever their names are have 5 fingers also? come on! it isn't another planet and world...it is earth 2. Also the story is not original at all...it is invasion of Indian land and a love story thrown in. Basically the history of the US. I still liked it just was shocked no one realized those things.
As I said before Avatar = Dances with Wolves + Ferngully + Smurfs.
I loved District 9, Pineapple Express, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. My boyfriend and I have been watching older horror movies lately like The Thing, American Werewolf in London, Evil Dead Trilogy. Looove :) And of course, we watched Die Hard on Christmas Eve!
If you would like to watch an excellent thriller, with strong characters and a european touch; if you like suspense and are not put off by graphic scenes sometimes hardcore try to watch:
Millenium
There's another one, it is a vampire movie but very different from the usual sugar coated Twilight or vampire diaries. This one is called Morse.
Both film are Northern European.
Very different and both contain a few unexpected scenes...
I just saw Leap Year. It was probably the least depressing chick flick I've ever seen, because it made NO attempts to be realistic.
Also, I could stare at Matthew Goode's face all day and never get bored. Even if his Irish accent wasn't too convincing.
I saw "Princess and the Frog" this weekend. Its been forever since I've seen a Disney movie and I thought I'd be bored but I loved it.
I watched the Law Abiding Citizen and loved it.
also watched Role Models which was pretty hilarious.
I rented Defiance with Daniel Craig. My god, I don't believe there is much I wouldn't do for a taste of that man. :surprised
Oh yeah, the movie was really good, too. It's a WWII flick.
