I've found apples customer service great, but that's support for products that I've already *bought*. ie, when you go to http://www.apple.com/support/ and select your product on the side, it already throws up a bunch of common problems ie "battery not being recognised", "trackpad behaving unexpectedly" etc, and I think it's good that they don't just gloss it over and pretend that their products just don't have any issues. Heck there's a even a troubleshooting forum for every product.
who cares if you have the right number, though, you could ring sales support (1-800-676-2775) or sales (1-800-MY-APPLE), say you have a complaint and get them to transfer you.
who really cares though, I mean, one complaint isn't going to make a big company change overnight. however, why not let them know you're pissed off? Your best bet of getting an actual response, though, is by posting it on the discussion forum for the macbook.
