Success vs Happiness

Both equally as important and having partners which move relationship in these directions brings good balance.

I'm thinking, the virtue of a dominant person will be success. In social circumstances, in business, in finding best partner, having best resources, having good vision and plan for the future. While virtue of submissive person will be the level of happiness in business / work life, in family life, relationships and so on. The emphasis will be on how happy are we regardless of how much success we have. Maybe having less success, but being more happy is a better alternative, will be the drive.

Its true the submissive partner often sets the 'tone' in a relationship. 'Happy wife (trophy husband?), happy life' again.

I like the idea around success<-->happiness. I haven't seen relationships where the 'dominant' partner is able to do all you mention (its usually one or two & the other partner excels at the others) but I do think there's something to what you say.

I think of this as more 'generation of opportunity/resources' and 'application of opportunity/resources'. The dominant partner in a situation will, through their skills & drive, create an opportunity (income being the most common example) & the partner will then (hopefully) put it to good use in an agreed upon way to maximize the happiness of the partnership.

How 'bout trying that on for size?

I hear you Scorp. This was one of the main reason I decided to just walk and continue walking. It wasn't the first time it happened and I remember having a long and deep conversation with her about these outbursts and she said she will change. But she couldn't, this was part of who she was. I just didn't want to continue being the constant mender. I could've fixed things between us, but I decided not to.

I realize I've made the right decision, we weren't compatible together me and her.

To have you know, most guys I know find dominant women a HUGE turn off and avoid them the moment they see the signs. With the exception of the very feminine and very submissive guys.

Think about it, what guy would would to be viewed as the always submissive one in a relationship?
