Though utterly degrading themselves just to get laid doesn't make them any kind of a winner.
I used to think men have it much harder than women because they have to put a lot of work into not getting rejected, until I had a chance to talk to a lot of women about their experiences. You'd think that because men put a lot of work into putting themselves out there and get rejected often they get laid less than women, but the opposite is true. Despite of the hardship men on average still get laid a lot more than women and don't have to put up with the social stigma that comes with being a slut like women do. I've known some gorgeous looking women, 9 out of 10s and their sex lives aren't as spectacular as most people would imagine. Some average looking guy who just keeps trying to get laid until someone says yes has a lot more happening in his sex life than a really beautiful woman.
Also, the goals are different. Guys are usually just looking to get laid and rarely look beyond that achievement. Women are more inclined to find a keeper. A much more difficult task that requires a lot more foresight and intuition.

I've never heard of men having a higher number of sexual partners on avg than women. The way I understand it, more women than men have had sex but this is balanced out by those select men having more sexual partners since they more desirable by women.
