What Annoyed you today

I hate that it is always MY responsibility to decide whether or not my medically fragile daughter gets to attend outings. If I say yes and she has a seizure, it will be my fault for letting her go. If I say no and she doesn't have a seizure, it will be my fault for keeping her home. How the f--k should *I* know if she is going to have a seizure on the ski slopes? How the f--k should *I* know if her teen counselors will handle it well if there IS a problem?

I wish I had a better-functioning crystal ball.

vashhh, they just want to take the liability off of themselves. you're her guardian and you have the right to decide what's in her best interest.

are you talking about the school? if the school were to take her somewhere without your permission and something were to happen to her you would be able to sue them for negligence. they do not want that.

No. I am talking about her father. He never makes any decisions about her. I always have to be the asshole.

Thats tough. My bf has to be the punisher too. Mommy dearest is the good times lady for 5 mins a day on the phone and most major holidays. Kids grow up and figure stuff out, the important things. Who was THERE to dry the tears and apply the Band Aids and who said, "bummer" over the phone.

Actually, she's a good girl. She is trying hard not to push me. I just hate seeing her cry when I say no. I would really much rather she were medically stable and going.

well if it's of any help, they're not trying to actually put any blame on you. they're just trying to take the liability off of themselves. if she's almost 18 you won't have to make such decisions very long.

quality of life is important especially for people her age. sometimes it's worthwhile to take risks.

How annoying to have that extra responsibility. Stuff like this is what makes me want to post pone having kids for awhile.


I went to the dentist today and it looks like I may need to get the wisdom tooth out. Though to make things complicated, it may be too close to the nerve.

when my wisdom teeth were coming in i would spend days curled up on the floor in fetal position crying. it was so painful i wanted to die.

Same. I took some painkillers at 6pm last night. Woke up around 2am this morning to a sharp pain when their influence wore off, felt like my head was about to explode, so took some more. I don't usually take them, but it felt like someone was crushing walnuts with my jaw.

I had my wisdom tooth out this morning. It took ages to get out and i swear he nearly broke my jaw doing so, i could feel him digging away and then when he pulled...jeeeez! I cant feel anything....yet.

I don't want to go to work.

I don't want anymore overtime.

I'm so tired.

Yuck. Go under general anesthesia for wisdom teeth! *shudder*

My wisdom teeth went by really smoothly. Mine were infected so I'd expected a lot of pain and recovery time but I literally felt nothing. Maybe I was just in so much pain beforehand? I don't know. They gave me lots of drugs and I rested for a day and was kosher.I know if you're a smoker you have to be careful to not get dry sockets and obviously have to have softer foods for awhile.

i was sick for a week and a half after mine were taken out. my granny was alive at that time and took care of me. she gave me my pills and bought me about 4 milkshakes a day.
