Of course its inherently incapable. You have to program it and provide initial parameters. In any case, I think this is the wrong question, so the answers really don't matter.

Can we stop putting words in my mouth? Nowhere did I say that I would rather have robots build my cabins for me. Robots will never go anywhere near my island. We go there so we can live simply for a couple weeks, and try to keep in touch with those parts of us that are lost in the metropolitan lifestyle. What I am saying is that when I settle down in a nice house, someday, I will want an expect it to have been built with the best available technology (which definitely won't be robots, yet), because I know it will be cheaper and higher in quality that way.

I agree that many old-style products and services will be sought after, however. Just like some people today like to buy handcrafted utensils and Amish furniture, they would probably be attracted to the sense of culture that comes with that.

I agree that people working and living in this country should assimilate into our culture. That means paying taxes, getting a drivers license, getting insurance on your car and learning enough English to answer the phone. When I lived in Mexico, I didn't expect everyone to speak English to accommodate me and it pisses me off when people move here and can't even be bothered to learn even the basics. This is not just about Mexicans, this is everyone.

One of the most infuriating things I ever heard on the radio was an interview with a man from Cuba who had moved to Florida something like 30 years ago and refused to compromise his values by becoming "Americanized". He wouldn't learn a word of English and wouldn't shop at stores that were owned by people who weren't Cuban. He would only work for Cubans and only socialized with Cubans. He found America disgusting, yet had no problem with living here because his own country had become an awful place where no one wanted to live.

You know what? **** that guy. What an asshole. I'm so glad my immigrant ancestors were more grateful to find a place where it was safe for them to live and raise their families.

I think we should start dealing with the real problem, which is that Mexicans are pouring over the border because their country sucks and Americans are hiring illegals for criminally low wages. If you can't afford a maid for a living wage, then you can't afford a maid. These people are being taken advantage of. Pulling them over for Driving While Brown isn't going to change that.

I'm curious Frasbee. Why do you always bring up Black people in your conversations, even when the conversations have little to nothing to do with us? I seriously think that if I tracked back through the majority of your topics I would be hard pressed to find some random convo where you didn't use Black people as an example and say something generally not nice in your example (whether you mean it or not). One might start to draw the conclusion that you are obsessed.

he lives in that environment. and it's not making negative statement but merely pointing out his observations.

I'll admit I'm being a contrary, just offering food for thought. It is not an opinion that Frasbee has negative views and makes negative statements about black people. It is a fact. Many of these are observations about the terrible place that he lives in. Some of them such as "Black people aren't human and won't get into the fictional heaven they believe in..." are not observations but simply negative things that he says and uses for an example of something. Do I think he believes in that statement? No, but maybe he does, I don't know.

I'm just pointing it out to Frasbee that he seems a bit obsessed. I say the same thing to my black relatives who harp on and on about how much they hate white people. A lot of the time they are simply making true observations about the world around them but they become obsessed with what they are saying.

BTW, I've had friends who have moved to New Orleans for teaching and volunteer work (not visited, but moved there) and they've told me stories about how horrible life is there but they've also told me stories about why they stay and how their work is worth while. They're not black. You can be a non-black person in New Orleans and not hate black people it seems.

When I lived in New Orleans, I hated everybody.

I think hypocrites like that should be deported whether they're legal or not.

Interesting how all of the countries that are actually waxing are very much into protecting what is theirs. All the nations that are waning are into "modernizing" and not protecting what is theirs.

The concept of sovereignty is too subtle for the soft-minded Westerners. And, the concept of property has also been lost. Hence the interest in "just living" and having "fun" and to hell with the rest of it.

This is what I was trying to get at earlier in this thread & maybe didn't say it as well as giga. I see what she posted above all the time with many different cultures living here.

I would never expect anyone to know English & conform to my traditions etc. if I went to any other country in the world. I would expect that I would have to learn the language wherever I moved to & take up some new traditions etc..

I can't stand the people that come here like the man above in giga's quote that hate it here, but basically steal from US by being here illegally & not contributing 1 thing to the town/city/state they live in.

I think the bottom line here that many of the people here are forgetting is ANYONE from another country that is here that isn't a citizen is here ILLEGALLY!! They are doing something that is illegal. We prosecute & put in prison tons of men & women each day for doing various illegal activities. Why are people that are here illegally held to a higher standard & shouldn't be punished by law?

Does "protecting what's yours" involve moving to a new country? People move here for a reason. If sovereignty is the most important thing to someone, they don't leave everything and move halfway around the globe and then pretend they brought their country with them.

The just GC just kicked the guy off the job who called in immigration.

That's right, since they're actually behind it all, the GC punished a legal and law abiding citizen by taking his job while they brought in a new shipment of illegals.

Oh, and they're claiming the cause was because he used racial slurs.
