I think anyone can improve, but I also think some people naturally have a better aptitude for it. What math are you taking?
I.B Math Studies.Quote:

Aw, jeez. I can't help. I have absolutely no idea what IB math is - we obvioulsy call it something different. Is there tutoring available at your school?
As in tutoring with a teacher by myself? If so, no. They're always busy.Quote:

No, I mean like a more advanced student that tutors you. At the school I go to, there is an actual tutoring building, where you can go to get basic help with almost any subject. You should check with your school to see if they offer something, and if not, with your teacher. S/he probably has office hours during which time they are *supposed* to help students who need it.
Well no wonder your having trouble, IB is really hard, i remember IB bio kicked my butt. For those of you who dont know IB is sort of like AP classes.
I think math is mostly something we cannot change (im not going to say genetic), but it is in the way we think, how we get from A -> B. And while it may be hard to do, but i think you can get better at it, as vashti said get a tutor and it will be a piece of cake.
I got no problem with my other classes, I can get level 7 in all of them but Maths. It literally just does my head in.Quote:

Vashti --- Nope. None.
EDIT: BFTBrick, how many points did you get?
Sorry dude, but I find it hilarious that you refer to it as "maths" and not just math.
I guess it's a Brit thing.
Hahaha! I just noticed that. Yes, it must be a British thing.Quote:

The only two things I suck at in math is word problems, and calculus as I never took it. But besides that I am pretty good at it. I have no idea what IB Math Studies is, but I would guess it has to do with something about going into the depths of how complex math works, like functions and what have you.
I'm a fantastic driver.Quote:

Eurasian, did you ever get a license? Who needs math when you've got a car, right?
I haven't even applied for a provisional yet. I'm planning to get a license AFTER I finish I.B.Quote:

What?
No, I'm not.
Wait...what's the pay, and are there benefits?
The pay is low, but the benefits include driving my 12-year-old Camry in some of the most random traffic on the planet with me yelling in your ear to hurry up or we'll be late.Quote:

How could you turn that down?
Better than me. I have one point on my liciense and been a victm of a hit and run accident. But its hard to not to go fast when you have a car that wants to move.Quote:

Thanks for the link. I couldn't find anything so I googled it and found info on Math Studies. Besides some advance things that I have not learned yet (basically the math theory and pricable stuff) it seems to be primary Algebra with a small portion of Geometry and Statistics.Quote:

12 year old Camry my god, that thing must suck big time. But you may not want to hire me besides of my record. One of my friends say that being in the car when I am driving can be like riding a roller coaster. lolQuote:

No thank you Giga, I'll have to pass.
Jurupa: It's not that I drive slow or anything, it's hard to go the speed limit in Philly. My car is an old '87 Honda Accord, acceleration is shit, but it gets great mileage!
However just the other day while lookin' out for an exit, I almost hardcore rear-ended this guy. Y'know when you're drivin', lookin' around, but you're concious of the car's break lights ahead of you. Well it was like that, I started hittin' the breaks as I took focus of the car ahead of me. Well turns out he wasn't breaking...he was at a full out stop. So I downshifted to 2nd gear and slammed the breaks. I might've just avoided it and pulled to the right but I never checked my mirror and didn't want to take the risk.
Vashti - It's called I.B. Math Studies here, too. :P It's just a math course for badasses.
Also, Kiechi, I think you should just practice. I used to suck at writing but be incredible at math, and after you start practicing it and maybe even enjoying it a little bit, you'll become amazing.
What kind of math is it?Quote:

I had a few close calls my self. I remeber that this woman started to pull out of a drive way into the street and I was turning from a left trun light and she pulled out in front of me. I jerked the car hard to the other side of the street (it has 2 lanes each way) and then realzing where I was I jerk the car doing a 180 power slide to the other side of the street. I didn't hit anything. The time I did get hit was when my car was parked and someone hit the side of it.Quote:

Uh, babe, I didn't mean to offer YOU help. I was offering it to Eurasian (if he can't find a tutor). I was merely working off your post saying it was primarily algebra, statistics and geometry. But in retrospect, I don't know that I remember much geometry, although I could probably be helpful with Algebra .Quote:

No, it's my way of telling you that it's completely obvious what they're doing. It's IB. They're most likely doing a mixture of logic, probability, trigonometry, and of course, some algebra.Quote:

Sweet. But one problem tho I never drove in the snow before. So I hope you got a huge parking lot to go to lol. Also you should come to Southern California and take a ride on our freeways. Most people I have talked to that live out of state say that they are afraid of our freeways becuase the way people drive on them.Quote:

I got plenty of parking lots to choose from 'round here. Plus, when there's snow on the ground at 2AM nobody is out. 'Cept the cops. But I've never had any problems. Plus, snow ain't so bad on your tires like dry asphalt. Still, pullin' 180's, and even 360's still ain't good for your suspension.
