Hi guys,
Our forum is growing with lot of members everyday. I wonder will it be feasible to setup our own mini free dating section? I have the system ready but wonder it will work out ...
That's a good idea.
I wonder how many people would hook up on here. It's not an every day thing and most people are still weirded out by online dating (actually, even I am, usually)
i'd say it would work, a lot of people come on here because they have relationship problems with their partner or broke up. they will be looking for distractions. it would work because they are likely to be desperate to improve their situation. online dating is not that weird, millions do it every day
I'd like to register my opposition to the move.
I am also opposed. My opinion of the people who frequent free dating sites is not high.
I have a few problems with it.
weirdos, porn adds, porn/sex spam
trivialisation of the board
awkwardness between members should something happen
to name a few.
I may be completely wrong, but I haven't got really good associations with dating sites, and making this forum a part of such thing doesn't seem like a wise move
You say "split" from the forum.
Now while I express the same sentiment as those opposed above. I would feel as though separate registrations and log ins may deter some spammers...maybe, but we would definitely need to expand the moderator army.
we would get all kinds of whack people up in this forum.
Yeah, like this character.Quote:

You guys are so fickle; jokingly flirting around with each other, but not willing loveforum to turn into a MMOO (Massive Multiparty Online Orgy)?
But yes, now that I think of it, that's exactly what would happen; this would turn into a dating site over time, and the forum would just be a small part of that. It defeats the purpose. Come on, do we need another dating site on the internet anyway?
No, we don't need another dating site. I prefer the flirtatiousness and sexual innuendos that get tossed around here....because nobody takes them seriously. Last thing I need is to casually mention that a poster is cute, and then have an inbox full of messages asking to hook up or something. Nuh-uh.
Although I 'd like to - yet again - debunk the myth that dating sites are scary or full or weirdos. I met my fiance there, and he's awesome. Far better than the dipshits I meet in my day to day life.
You were kidding?!?!?!? :surprisedQuote:

You take things said on here too serious, like your other post about how the forum started...lighten up.Quote:

I'm opposed to the dating site. From my one experience with going on a date with someone I met online, it turned out WEIRD. Never doing that again, lol. Plus I think it would only bring in spam and other weird crap.
Wow, you thought I was serious? Dude, just ****ing stop. Are you shitting me?Quote:

On a more serious note, I actually met a very lovely woman on the internet. She is one of the kindest, most original, most understanding people I've ever met, online and offline. Of course, online dating is weird because it's new, not so stable, and, well, it's just the ****ing internet. But people do fall in love over the internet, sometimes it's very successful. I mean, I thought I'd never date anyone I met on the internet, and here I am, giving it a shot. I do agree with bluesummer, and like I said, adding a dating part here will absolutely make the forum part extinct. Completely understandable why some of you oppose the idea so much ;)
Make them pay for it w/a separate reg. That will cut down on the hoi polloi. Ppl coming to this forum quickly figure out (or are told) that its not a dating site.
I don't get pay dating sites. The nerve of some people to charge me in order so I can talk to someone. WTF is that BS. You have to be a mental patient to fall for that crap. Free or nothing, Myspace is free why would they charge for that crap?
As opposed to someone who pays or just people who use dating sites all together? because if all together than I understand but why those that don't pay, I make a shit load of money and I would never pay for that crap because it is a scam. Even if you got with someone on there you got scammed because the people who took your money offered no service at all that for example Myspace can not do...other than FORCE you to take action.Quote:

The next big thing: internet
Don't be surprise we have more people getting their date over the net these days..
30 bucks a month for the ability to communicate over the internet?! WHAT A DEAL! sign me up! ...wait...isn't that what I am paying 50 bucks for comcast monthly as it is ? :sad2:Quote:

You make it sound like they actually build my date lol. Shit! I would pay for that.

i'll charge people 10 bucks a minute to have a messenger conversation with starbuck and 20 dollars to exchange 5 private messages with vashhhhh.
lol. The 'dating' site will show up as one of the "ads" on the forum..Quote:

if you have observe carefully, you should see those 'ads' on top of our forum? eg. match.com
They are benefiting from us.
We should have our own ...
... I will kick and scream and complain, but ultimnately, it's not up to me :tough:
This will fail LoveAdmin. Fail hard.
At least you get the point.Quote:

I'm surprised Skype doesn't implement something, with everyone using their webcams for convos these days.Quote:

Sure, go ahead and do it.
I'll make up a fake profile on there and put a picture of some hot chick in skimpy lingerie as my profile pic and go break some hearts. I'll change my name to bluehummer.
I'm willing to do contract work if you'll be my pimp, Miso. Your cut is ten percent.
I've got connections with the coppers if you want to make them turn a blind eye to the loveforum district of cyberspace. Ain't gonna be cheap, but it's worth your peace of mind.

Probably not popular yet.. but i am sure video conferencing will most likely be the next big thing as well. Cheaper and better webcam can boost the popularity of these..
I think the next big thing is uncorporization of the computer industry; free operating systems, free programs, free information, all dominating the market. Hardware will be the only marketing, and software will be smaller, provided only to people who need it (it's dependent on the schooling system)
Webcams and online dating are still unpopular, and merely nothing compared to the other advances on the net. But what's that got to do with this place? It will create more work for everyone, cause frustration, and all for what? Maybe a few dollars every month... it's just not a feasible idea in my opinion.
But now since you guys seem to be on the next subject of the agenda, how about a forum that is even more dynamic than just a php kind of thing? I am talking auto-reprint and things like that; turning the forum into more of a IRC kind of thing.
i would be very interested in working out such a contract. i'll charge people 50 dollars to look at your pics in the gallery. with your numbers we should profit enormously. and if you put up boobie pictures i'll only charge you 8%.Quote:

Guess I better up the ante on those gallery pics.
Good thing it's Halloween, I should be able to score a good French Maid costume.
I'd pay for said pics.
I agree with this.Quote:
