I only ask you concern yourself with brevity if you find your explanations are in excess.
Allow me to quibble for a second.

Can you distinguish for me, concisely (and with as much brevity as you can stand), the difference between...
(My emphasis).

If a particular point needs a framework to stand on, by all means, build the framework.
I can build a framework, but the question is what the framework is standing on.

In any case, your posts are baffling and I suppose I'll never ascend to this higher plane of consciousness.
You won't if you sarcastically dismiss it as "a higher plane of conciousness". If you really did believe that you were fundamentally lost in an ersatz reality, you would ardently desire to escape, and would thus succeed.

I suppose that's alright; I think I belong down here in basal, fleshy-reality where I pursue sex for purely selfish reasons.
Then you shall stay there, obviously.

It isn't your idea of the ultimate state of being, but at least it's a fulfillment I can understand.
It's not an idea, but fair enough. One day, I hope, you will intuit a fulfillment that you can't understand, that is, as you say, "baffling" - but that is so sweet you can do nothing but throw yourself in. Because, finally, nothing can be "understood". We tell ourselves that we know things, just because we can name them. This chair, when directly percieved, is a mysterious miracle - and if that is true of a chair, how much more the sky, my lover, or the present moment itself?

Tell God I'm sorry for doubting Him, I'm just looking for something I can believe.
It's not difficult to find something you believe. Belief is easy.
Anyrate, thanks for talking Aegis; your posts at least have been, for the most part, courteous.
Moving on...

Congratulations, you own a thesaurus. Personally, I prefer to not type like a pretentious hippie asshole, but to each his own.
"A man is called pretentious nowadays, if he dresses as he likes to dress. But in doing that he is acting in a perfectly natural manner. Pretention, in such matters, consists in dressing according to the views of one’s neighbour, whose views, as they are the view of the majority, will probably be extremely stupid."
Things haven't changed since Oscar's time.
As for being called a hippy, like being called a socialist or a mystic, the label has been tainted by fools and advertisers, and can refer either to a pretentious or decadent lover of form, or someone who pursues truth outside of societal givens. People who like to throw insults around usually don't stop to consider the difference.
And I don't own a thesaurus.

But to address this drivel you keep spewing...
Strange meaning you give to the word "address" here...

...go live in The City of God for a week.
That will be the place made popular by the film of the same title, yes?
Quote:
All this pseudo philosophical nonsense you keep going on about is a result of your never having had to actually worry about survival. You've lived a cushy life...
How do you know all this about me? Or is it assumption?
Leaving aside its "educational" value, is it necessary to live in "The City of God" to worry about survival?

...so you are free to dictate what is right and wrong and how the world works without having to worry about practical things.
Leaving aside, again, your assumptions, as far as I know, we are all free in this way.
Quote:
But anybody that has any life experience knows that things aren't as clear as you pretend to make them.
Yes, that's why I say that clarity is the result of giving up your experience.

Feeling at one with the universe is myth along the same lines as the bible.
Finally we come to your "addressing" my points. What this amounts to is "you're wrong", which, despite being a trifle summary, is fair enough. I would like to know why you think so though; what you have done to discover this extraordinary truth (which, after all, has ramifications for all of humanity), what experiments you have made with living, what discoveries you have made enquiring into the meaning of love, the origin of beauty, the source of creativity and other such fundamental questions. I would like to know, but I suspect I'm not going to find out anything particularly original or interesting. I suspect I am just going to get lots of posturing insults and more assumptions.

hence my suggestion to go live amongst people who aren't able to fritter away their time philosophizing and I'm assuming your case, lighting up.
So, let's sum up. I should go and live in an extremely dangerous, unhealthy, and possibly unloving place, where there is no time to enjoy life or to learn about it, in order to divest myself of the myth that I am cheerfully connected with an intelligent universe.
Thank you for this advice, but I won't be taking it again.
