i hope you guys don't get hit too hard.
Had a cyclone pass by a few kilometers offshore of Sri Lanka's west coast while living there back in high school, looked awesome with lightning literally raining down (if I'd guess it'd be 5 flashes per second, for hours) and a big tree fell into the backyard, but luckily it missed the house and the wind was never strong enough to cause serious damage.
I'm thinking of you guys! Hell we're watching it here too. They have NO idea where this one is going. For days my county or the county of south of us was suppose to get Fay. They cancelled everything that Tues and I was awe struck when our county was probably the only county who didn't get squat from it.
I've learned to watch the updates but quit paying so much attention to the track until the last 48 hours because these things have a mind of their own...
Why do you need a gun? Are you going to shoot it?Quote:

Have sex during the worst of the storm
I've seen poor, illegal, families driving around in beat up pick-ups searching through the trash piles gut crews compile.Quote:

Most pathetic thing was when this little adolescent boy in a torn white t-shirt, shorts, and no shoes, walking on those horrid streets, picked out a soggy wet mattress we just removed, and motioned his dad in the truck to come pick it up to and to the rest of the junk they had.
Still watching Gustav.
Might evacuate to Texas if it's coming towards us.
This reminds me of when we had a huge power outage here in New York City a few summers ago. It lasted two days, and at first everyone thought it was some kind of terrorist attack. Then everyone walked home, the streets totally packed with people. No one could work the next day anyway so that night, people had hot, sweaty black out parties. And the next week everyone had stories about black out sex.Quote:

It's funny what a little natural disaster does to the libido.
What's the big deal...Quote:

That sounds like fun but not at the same time, lol.
I don't remember, but I'm sure there were tons of random encounters. It was 100 degrees, people were tired from walking all day and being anxious, and bars were throwing their beers on ice and putting them out on the sidewalk to lure people in. I stayed the night at my ex's apartment and I remember seeing people in the building across the street partying off the balcony. In the morning I could see scores of people in that apartment sleeping or passed out, all pressed up against the glass sliding door.Quote:

She only says that, Friz, then you show up at her front door and she nervously looks up and down the street so that her man doesn't catch her talking to strangers!!Quote:

I don't get the dress comment.
Anyway, we're heading to Amy's parent's house near Dallas, Texas.
It's a 10 hour drive, and we're leaving tonight.
Gustav just reached hurricane status and is gaining strength.
New Orleans is issuing a mandatory evacuation tomorrow, so we hope we can beat the traffic by leaving late tonight.
Have a safe drive.
Yikes! Good luck getting out!
You and every other person in NOLA. Good luck, man.Quote:

I really don't think it'll be that bad, and will easily be better than leaving tomorrow.
Drove from 9:30 pm, to 7:45 am.
Was delirious after being up for 26 hours.
Gustav is Category 4 right now. Predicted to reach 5 (highest) in the gulf and reduce to 4 by the time it hits land.
New Orleans has been gridlocked. In some cases driving no more than a mile every 15 minutes. We were right to get out quick.
We're looking into going back and assisting organizing volunteer efforts after the storm hits.
Don't know if anybody will even want to rebuild in certain areas.
I'll keep you updated.
i'm glad you guys made it there safely.
