Who the hell said it was a racist movie? lol idiots. I thought it was good but the ending was predictable and kind of sucked.
I thought the critics were too busy saying The Frog Prince was a racist movie.
Here is one article I read. I have to browse the my history to find the other things I've read about Avatar being a racist movie.

Avatar is not a racist movie. I'm black and I don't see one gosh darn racist thing about it. The critics are being stupid. Are we not suppose to have movies about how imperialism is wrong? I appreciate movies where heroes from all walks of life stand up for what's right and what they believe in.
So, it wasn't racist but it was however, an AWESOME movie. One of my top 5 favs of all time. :D The art was so well done. I kept forgetting I was looking at a CG world. I really don't care how much money it cost or how much time it took, I'm just glad that it was made. Bravo, James Cameron.
People are idiots.
Of course it's racist, everybody knows white humans are superior to blue aliens.
LoL, it says that the movie is anti-war and pro-environment. Is this supposed to be a bad thing ? hahaha must have struck a nerve in the douche bag department of the US when it become obvious that the rare material they are after is fuel. Go Cameron!Quote:

Pah racist movie!? nothing like it and i definitely think it is the best movie ever writen and the best ive ever seen myself :) i enjoyed it so much and im gonna go see it again before it goes out of the cinema!
While some of the dialogue was cheesy and plain, and the theme was one that had been done a million times before (Dances with Wolves meets Ferngully plus Smurfs), I enjoyed it visually. Very beautiful.
I also don't think Giovanni Ribisi made a very convincing villain. Seems like they gave him a tie and a golf club and a few bad lines. He's usually such a great actor, but I suppose this movie didn't leave much room for talent. Most of the credit was put upon Cameron and his CGI buddies.
Mmmmmm Giovanni Ribisi...

That is so...true lol :D
that's so funny.
i was thinking about the movie twilight and how similar it is to the lost boys.
It was nice visually.
Acting was done quite alright, though nothing special, just average.
But as PP already showed, it was so filled with references to native american culture that, frankly, I was amazed at how few original ideas were used. At the very least they could've made the aliens stand out, not the "Hey, let's take a human, make it 4 times taller, paint it blue, and voilá, alien".
So yeah, fairly entertaining, but very predictable, and nothing new, it's just another CGI-fest.
Avatar was brilliant. Amazing CGI, good and very important plot despite how much it's been told!
The film has actually made me see things differently, i've started to not like economies even more than before. It truely is a film that speeks miles about how we value wealth too highly when real wealth is in the stuff that makes you happy, like a lushous green landscape or a beautiful woman.
Money sucks, but its rules everything, and that sucks as well
I think Avatar's Anti war and pro environment message is quite obvious. Calling it racist because a white person helps an indigenous tribe in the movie is way over the top. Whoever holds that point of view needs to have their political correctness meter examined.Quote:

The movie was good and the money spent on it has already been recovered with a substantial profit. Avatar is now the fourth highest grossing movie.
Since I saw this Pocahontas - Avatar description.. I don`t wanna see it anymore :/ And my bf wants to go to the cinema for it...Actually TWO TIMES cause first we need to see it in OV in one cinema, and after if we want to see it in 3D (but in spanish) we need to go to another cinema. And I don`t feel like watching it at all :/ I just go there to eat popcorn hehehehehehe
Does anyone else feel like Pettit is absolutely adorable sometimes?
I thought this was pretty funny. And it has Susan Sarandon's daughter in it.

Latest: "Avatar" headed to No. 2 at all-time box office. :)
Avatar was awesome! Seen it 3x already. I wish I lived on Pandora :(
I hate these stats, they are meaningless unless you correct for the increased ticket price. Total audience size is really what counts.Quote:

avatar is one of the best movies ever
Princess Mononoke was a much better movie than Avatar. It just didn't have the 3D gimmick to pull in the rubes like Avatar did.
Hi:)My name is Neytiri:))
avatar was great, but i would say Princess Mononoke was way better.
ya the 3d aspect of avatar was pretty amazing but im with the rest of u guys, it was just a glorified pochahotus movie lol def spelled that one wrong but thats ok
I liked avatar it held me interested for tree hours and that is really a good thing. And it is even better when you watch it in 3D!
For me Avatar looked like sort of a mix of several hits:
Matrix with it's idea of whole new world in our dreams.
District 9 which has a very similar plot. (A guy should move aliens from the territory but eventually takes their side)
And of course Avatar reminded me The Lord Of The Rings for it's colorful landscapes. And the idea of uniting different types of aliens to fight one enemy.
But I definitely don't say it's a bad film! I like it for what is its primary purpose - special effects. And in 3D it's worth it!
I thought it sucked personally.
I watched this last night, but i wasnt so impressed
This is a racist movie.
All about the 3D ... I haven't gotten it on blu-ray because I know it was the 3D that hooked me.
I thought this movie was AMAZING. The Na'vi people were like a mix of Native Americans and Africans. :P LOL. And yes, it was a little like Pocahontas, but it was so much more fantastical with all these amazing effects, it was just.........WOW.
The acting was fine, I thought Sigourney was awesome, lol. I did notice how Sam kept going in and out of his aussie accent. (one minute a bad ass american army dude, the next....'ello mate!' srsly.) but I think he did good for never have acted before in his LIFE! He did pretty DAMN good. And, I would have screwed him whether he was white, blue, green, black and white stripped with green polka dots. He made a hot human and an even hotter alien.
I want their abs, yo.
9 out of 10 smurfs found it racist, DM.
Well, I didn't watch it yet. But some groups argue that it is one of those cliche movies with the white hero saving the indigenuous natives (who are too dumb to help themselves).Quote:
