Black Ops two -.-

As much as i love my boyfriend to pieces i have not long (5 minutes ago) thrown an empty can of monster at his head because he has been ignoring me all bleeding night because of this stupid game-.- he's now asking me what i said? was it important? why did i throw an empty can at his head, to be honest what i was saying wasn't that important but i'm not gonna tell him that, he's not finding out what i said and i threw the empty can at his head because i dont really take 'hmm' 'huh' and 'ugh' as an answer anymore after 4 hours-.-
Is this game annoying anyone else, need some sanity before i kill him-.-

Don't blame the game; blame the player. On the other hand, I dunno how clingy you may or may not be and isn't this game new? When you know a hot game is coming out, you should know a guy will need a little time to himself for it, especially if he's a working guy and has limited free time. Sucks for you, but it's the truth although ideally he'd balance that free time a little better in appreciation of you.

Not enough info for me to say. He is pretty ****ing clueless, though.

i am definately not clingy, but after four hours i expect more of a reply than 'ugh' and so on, and yeah i understand the game is new, dont get me wrong i loved playing black ops the first time, but i would rather him realize i exist? and i live with him and he doesn't work, believe me he has all the time in the world before this he was playing modern warfare two for a total of i would say about six hours ive had no interaction what so ever, we are only eighteen and i dare say i would be playing it with him soon, but i still expect to life from him not a floppy fish with a controller in his hand-.-

Well, you aren't his mom so contrary to what someone else might suggest, you can't exactly say "Put down the controller and talk to me." You might just have to wait until he's finished and then talk with him; otherwise, he's going to feel encroached upon. We guys HATE when girls get all pushy on us whilst we're gaming regardless of if we're the offending party or not.

From the circumstances you've listed, assuming they're true, what is he exactly doing with his life?

Dude, it's Black Ops 2. You definitely don't sound like a gamer, so you will never understand. It's different for every relationship, but if you want to win some cool gf points, let him play his game. It's fresh, brand new. It's awesome. Better yet, ask to play with him. If he persists being stuck on the game past 24 hrs, then smack him in the head so he comes back to reality. Otherwise, you should find a hobby.

The "play with him" idea is a good one, but I am almost positive he's one of those headset wearing, online gamers with a username like c*ntf*cker (pardon the obscenity but it's probably accurate). Good luck getting him offline if he's hooked on the online game.

Besides, no offense but how do either of you intend to find jobs to maintain your place of residence? I don't see how one can get a job playing Black Ops.

I have a far better method. :sinister: There's this ticklish spot on the side of his neck that kissing makes game play near impossible and with a little extra gets me the "let me get to a save spot" response. At which point I can proceed with bringing up whatever conversation, movie, or event I wanted to do.

Lol, yeah right; he'll probably just brush that away as though it were the work of a fly. Apparently, Black Ops matters more than girls right now to that guy. It's pretty run-of-the-mill.

If it took throwing things at my husband to get his attention after 8 hrs of a game he would wake up to find all his cords missing until we had a talk. Since he is a reasonable man this talk would go well with only a minimal raising of voices about the initial finding of missing cords. He would understand my feelings of being neglected and we would work out something to do that day and if necessary every day to keep me happy as well. We've done it before with his going to the gaming store for sometimes 8 hrs at a time and plus work I would end up not seeing him every day. So he skips lunch to get off work a half hour early as well as going to the store a half hour late and I go to my martial arts class a half hour late so we spend time together. That was the compromise.

If he were not a reasonable man who cared about me... well... I played mommy to a late teenage early 20s(lasted 3 years) gamer who broke 3 chairs from sitting in them so long playing video games and brushed me off because he was pking with his friends when all I wanted was his attention long enough to watch a movie on valentine's day. 2 months later I had secured a house to rent and was gone. Planning to never live with anyone ever again. Luckily I found someone reasonable.

My husband said if I'm going to take his power cords to get his attention to at least shut down his laptop first so I don't damage it. Like I said he's seeing most of what I'm posting and agreeing with me.

Actually, six plus four is ten, not nine. And I'm all for the head-shot method if he really doesn't notice anything beyond the game at all. I can understand enjoying a game, but no matter how much of a "gamer" you are, that's no excuse for ignoring real human contact (from his girlfriend no less). Now, playing the game with him can be a good idea, something fun for the two of you to do together, but only if he acknowledges that he's doing something with you, if he completely ignores that fact then that kind of defeats the purpose.

She did say that he wasn't working, making excuses for someone like that doesn't make you look very good IMO. If someone, his girlfriend no less, is trying to interact with him it makes no godammed difference how fancy and new his game is, reality is reality.

Some people sometimes just don't get it. Others are understanding, and the best ones... play along. I'm one who loves games. I'm frickin' stoked beyond words about Bioshock Infinite coming out in February. So, if I had a boyfriend, and he was up my ass the first day of me getting that game, I would be pissed and tell him to chill out. Let me play my friggin' game! It's brand new.

Like I said, let him get the "newness" out of his system. He doesn't have a job? Well, this was obviously an issue before the game came out. And next time, throw a small pillow. Not a can. If it were the other way around, you would most likely feel extremely upset and probably cry.

I am 100% with Indi here, let the guy enjoy the game and leave him alone. Once or twice a year a game comes out that I put my full attention into, and my gf is aware that she is best to just find something else to do during that time. She doesn't lose shit and throw stuff at me, she asks me how the game is going, and then hops onto her computer, goes to a friends, whatever. You've been dating for years, so what does it matter if he wants a day of "his" time? He isn't out banging other chicks, he is gaming and having fun.

If he did it every weekend you might have a problem, but it sounds like he is just enjoying this release. Rmemeber, you don't own him, he doesn't own you, you're both allowed to appreciate things the other person doesn't. Do you get pissed with him if he goes out with friends, to a football game, etc? Do you call and text him all day making sure he is ok and checking up on him? If yes, then stop.

Oh, I missed the part about him being 18. I agree with most of the others then. You guys shouldn't even be in a long term relationship, let alone live together... you're too young.

Those guys probably have other hobbies that they don't want their girlfriends involved in either. I think it should be noted that this is more about personal space and time then the games themselves. She feels neglected because something that came out 2 days ago is taking up his attention. Sports fans are the same at draft time, so if he decided to spent 2 days getting a draft for a sports pool together, should she be pissed at him and throw cans at his head for that too?

He will still have Black Ops II next week and next month, but if he continues on his present course, he won't have a girlfriend next month.

As per her post, it was only 4 hours before she lost her shit - not days on end, morning to night. She is putting it off like he is living on his console and completely neglecting her, but he is simply enjoying his "him" time.

They f*cking live together, if she can't give him some space to do something that makes himself happy once in a while, then they need to break up and move on.

I also don't care about the age situation, that isn't really here nor there. But when you live with someone, you have to accept that once in a while, they aren't going to be there to meet your needs.

Elysha, do you have this problem frequently, or does this happen once in a while. Lets talk about the root of the issue, has this been ongoing from before this game came out? Does he put you behind gaming on a frequent basis?

The can was the flimsiest thing ever, if anything he took it as a joke, i didn't throw the EMPTY can at his head to piss him off, infact he would usually laugh and be like 'ha sorry babe' what made it worse was the fact that even when the can was thrown at him LIGHTLY he still didn't respond, glued into the game, i'm all for games, i love playing on the playstation 3 with him, but on a raining crap cold day where my only thing to keep me going was my laptop after ten hours, playing crappy games, facebook, yahoo answers, wordpress and downloading pointless things to fill my time with, yeah i was getting just a tad bored, you know six hours on modern warfare to no interaction he was like a potato then four hours on black ops (which i understood his concentration) still got annoying, as much as i appreciate your comment, Love'sReject yesterday yes he did have priority issues but usually he isn't usually i can deal with his couple of selfish times but ten hours was a bit of a long one for me yesterday, the can was a joke we laughed about it later on alongside with his brother.

But.. my point was proved, for him ignoring me yesterday for a new game has failed on him, for the simple fact he don't want to play it no more because the games apparently 'is a pile of sh**' and he 'doesn't see what all the big deal was with bringing out this new game'
in all honesty i think it's the maps getting him frustrated, he isn't used to them, men ay;)
