I am willing to wait for him

Hello, so I am a 19 year old girl.. A current college student.

I have this ex boyfriend of mine, who i can't get over with. Not in a bad way anymore I guess.
It has been a year now since we broke up.
We were legal and both our families accepted our relationship. Even now, my father keeps asking me about him because he didn't know we broke up.
I know I should tell him but I don't have the courage to.
1 week after we broke up, he has this new girl friend who was also his classmate.
I don't know, it hurt but I still don't want to ruin their relationship.. I'm just not like that.

So then, at first, I was hell of a bitter person but now, I just accepted the fact that I still love him and that is the way it is. Being not over him is not a burden for me. Well, not anymore.
I don't know if what he told me why he got cold all of a sudden is the truth and not the fact that he liked somebody else but does it even matter now?

For some reason, I feel like waiting for him. I'm not disturbing them but I'm waiting. I know it is stupid but I guess until no one comes to give me a greater feeling that what I felt about him then I would like to wait for him..

I mean he respected me. He didn't touch me. He thought me a lot of lessons and that seemed to make a mark on me..

Just sharing..
any insights about it?

What makes you think he'd want to be with you again? If it failed the first time, then it's likely to fail the second time.

Is your ex still in relationship with his new girlfriend? do you guys still communicate with one another? if their is some sort of communication between you to and if he still has any type of feeling towards you then yeah wait for him. BUT if you guys don't talk at all you should try to move on or focus on yourself and don't have hope that he'll come back it's been one year possibility is he probably loves her and chances are he moved on from you. and trust me in college your going to meet different guys who are going to be head over heels for you :)

yah thanks for the advice kirsy, and don't worry I'm not stressing myself while waiting for him and my "new man" :)

I can answer this......you are waiting for nothing...he has moved on and even if they break up, he will be with a new one before you have a chance to jump out of the bushes.

it is no of certain burden for me.. If I find a new one, then go but as long as I haven't found a new one then I'll wait

he dumped you for her. Stop waiting for him. Find a man who loves you enough not to think the grass is greener. Your wasting your life. Accept its over so then you can start healing properly and fall out of love with him

I'd say that you shouldn't wait anymore, but since you've insisted that it is ok for you, I wont. But still, never expect that one day he would go back to you. And when the time comes that you find that someone who can give you the greater feeling you are looking for, never pass up on that opportunity because of your willingness to wait for your ex. Second chances don't come too often, so the first chance you get at another good opportunity, make sure to never waste it.

Trust me on this one because when I was a teenager I did the same thing. You will look back on this and realize how much of an idiot you were for doing it and what a waste of time it was.

I tend to agree with the people here who have said that you should move on, I don't think waiting for someone in the hope that they'll come back to you is a good thing, but I have to ask, even if he did come back to you would you really want him knowing that he replaced you so quickly?

Oh and I agree with Empty - tell your dad, keeping secrets from the people who love you the most isn't a good thing either!
