Why is my boyfriend using a fake online dating profile?

We are in a long distance relationship, met 2 years ago, have dated for 1 year. In this winter break(we are students), I noticed that after every date, he went home and was online on the fake online dating profile, and then didnt use it until after our next date.
However, school started again, and I think we cant meet each other until a next few months. I notice he is using that fake profile every day, like after he gets home from school. That fake profile is totally fake, fake picture, age, location, job, ethnicity, etc.
Why is he doing this?
We dont talk often, because I want to give him time to study. His school is very hard.

When we were together, he was very caring, charming, affectionate.... to me.

Hes flirting with and/or having cyber sex with other girls. How do you know he has a fake dating profile and why have you not confronted him about this or dumped him yet?

Yes whether it is a fake profile or not-he is still communicating with other women-likely in a sexual manner which is unacceptable if you and he are in a monogamous, exclusive relationship.

He's just screwing with people online, nothing serious. Don't even bother bringing it u unless you wanna look like a total control freak.

He probably has someone on the side. I wouldn't be surprised.

Better to get the **** out of this relationship now before it gets worse.

^ This is also a valid point. It'd be rather screwed up if it was a random person you were obsessing over...

seeing you once a month, or whatever you can scrape up, is not doing it for him. He needs more. Maybe he is totally faithful to you and only having cybersex, or looking at pics/porn online. Maybe he is actively jonesing for dates with local women. You have to find out which it is, and if that behavior is ok for you. I suggest cutting him some slack, though, as you are so far away. Can not expect him to live in a monastery, can you?

I'm sorry.... Which mental hospital do you belong to again? That's the most ****ing ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

I say it's just for entertainment, ya some people do this kind of crap, even have a fake affair posing as a girl even. We had one guy on here that thought he had an on line relationship with a girl for 2 years (2 YEARS!) only to find out that it was all fake and that it was a guy. He was devastated. I don't find anything entertaining about it, messin with people. If I were you I would be concerned about his immaturity doing this kind of activity. He's being a jackass IMO. Ya he could be flirting dirty texts with other girls, but you are going to have to find out that one for yourself, just don't "assume" what he is doing.

I'm still waiting to hear from Op how she "knows" its her boyfriend if it's fake pictures, fake age, fake everything. Since she's not returned to her thread, I'll have to assume that she, like his profile, is fake.
