Very trueeeeeee.
You don't want to end up like Pleasantville.
The courting and living together period before marriage will make sure the person I pick is the right one. I don't rush into these things.Quote:

Though I'm a bit skeptical of this 180 degree turn around after marriage. In my experience, traditional marriages tend to last a lot longer and have a better interdependent family dynamic than the the modern western ones.

I cook just fine. It's just that my household is absent of the expectation that cooking is my duty entirely. I still do it because I'm home before my fiance is, usually.....but if he expected from me, he'd be coming home to Pizza Hut.
Haha I enjoy cooking for a man. I love to see him eat good. :P
I enjoy cooking for my gfs as well. My last ex only cooked for me once for the whole 9 months we've been together. Most of our dinners were cooked by me. I don't care about who cooks or who does the dishes or the laundry. What I care about is a good dynamic and an environment of understanding and mutual respect. So far the women from traditional cultures in my experience have proven to be a lot more respect worthy.
Only because they appear to be normal and perfect.
I enjoy cooking. I prefer to cook, actually. It also means I'd be saving face by not having to worry about eating something I don't like.
I also enjoy cleaning, as long as things aren't made into a mess. I prefer very organized and clean. Besides, if I get to clean, that means I get to set up things the way I want to.
I think my girlfriend is 'traditional'. That is, intelligent, respectable, and trustworthy. I don't think she's ever even been drunk. She doesn't swear. She's caring and lovable, has good family values, wants kiddies & is a career gal. Plus she's cute, especially when she smiles.
It takes a stronger man to be with someone with flaws.
As I said before... you have to consider where and how those flaws developed.
I used to enjoy cooking.
Now I'm usually beat by the time I get home I don't want to bother shopping or cooking unless I really have to.

Im 28, run my own business and am about to start another degree. I dont want any children, which when i tell people that im frowned upon with the look of sheer disgust. Luckily my partner supports me in everything i do and has a child from a previous relationship.
I certainly dont "need" a man, my man just enhances my life :D
I love to cook too...I'm a Rachel Ray fan..lol
i'm obsessed with good quality food more than clothes or beauty products-everything i own now is natural and fairtrade. i am loving cooking something i never thought i would say when i was younger. i think i always used to have an attitude of 'why should *i* cook just because i'm a woman'. now i really understand and oooh do i adore my food that made from scratch instead of eating unknown chemically processed shite. i hate cleaning so i hire a cleaner to do the hard cleaning, it motivates me to tidy the place up before my cleaner gets here ironically. that doesn't make me a traditional woman, it makes me a person who is the boss of my body and now am my own boss in life with my business, it had made me really understand whats good for my body and to keep it healthy. i'd rather cook my food than go out for a meal anyday. i'm still an independant bossy girl.
Actually, the most important factor why I like them is because they showed a greater understanding and acceptance of me as a person. While the women from non-traditional backgrounds I've encountered spent more of their time trying to resolve their own personal issues to really care about what goes on around them. It's not that women from traditional background didn't have flaws, they just showed a greater deal of warmth and humanity instead of coldness and contempt.Quote:

That sort of contradicts everything you said about the non-traditional women though. If they spent so much time trying to better themselves what kind of man wouldn't respect that kind of woman? Some women just need motivation, how do you know that you weren't the motivation? I guess I'm trying to figure out why a non-traditional woman, spending time trying to resolve her issues is a turn off.Quote:
