It's just one of those days for me. Pshhh.
Because you're that exhausted or because you're sick of your life?Quote:

Husky voices on a curvy gals can be sexy. Think of the positives.
Ugh what just annoyed me the most... I keep getting phone calls from some dern Church. FTW. Leave me alone! You have wrong number okay?!?!?!
When they call, tell them that you're sorry for eating your cat but it wasn't baptized so it's better in your stomach than limbo. Then launch into a spiel about earthquakes and the second coming of Snarf from the animated Thundercats series.
That should get rid of them.
I can understand some of the reasons for a union, tho they are largely unnecessary these days. But, I don't set final pay based on the job, I set it based on how *well* the job is done. But, sadly, some managers really need guidelines for this. My compromise is to provide a pay range based on quals and skills, with room to move for performance and bonuses. Still, its on the path to regulation, which sucks. Frankly, people signing the cheques should be able to pay whatever they want to whoever they want. Poor choices will come out in the wash.Quote:

I agree with you but would like to point out that you're still adhering to a form of regulation, albeit not as extreme as is modernly being pushed further towards.Quote:

Qualifications and skills are one in the same, though how one arrives is no longer open to the same loose interpretation as it once was a few decades ago for quite a number of disciplines.
There are tithes to outlay irregardless of one's actual work journey, intended or more often than not... unintended.
The middlemen need to get theirs before the underlings get theirs, afterall.
(and prides need to be guarded)
wtf.. who is that aimed at?Quote:

I'm not keen on Unions, but don't think for a second I won't take their money.
They should be, but they aren't. I have people with pieces of paper (quals) who are less skilled than those without. I don't think its fair to pay the paper more than the skills, esp when the skilled output is actually better. Ideally, the two should be congruent, but that's not always so.Quote:

I *think* we are saying the same thing, Doc.
I'm so nervous for tomorrow. Tonight, around my family I got to feeling claustrophobic and like I just needed fresh air. I haven't cried yet. I know I spill my beans here but in real life I'm much more private. I feel like tomorrow its going to be so much. I get to feeling like I can't breathe or am going to throw up/pass out.
A part of my patient load yesterday:
31 year old male with a stroke. No obvious risk factors.
34 year old male with a heart attack. (It was cocaine-induced, so I felt slightly less sorry for him. Plus, he was kind of a bastard.)
31 year old with a stroke? wow.
anyway, i'm annoyed that i can't find vashhhhh's yoga thread and there's no "view all threads started by this member" option anymore.
