Spring break begins and
Every so often, yours truly is struck by an idea so revolutionary and yet so philosophically aged that it mounts him like a stray wench in a bad neighborhood, pinning him to the ground and choking, choking yours truly until he spews forth a violent venom of mad oldschool bongsmoking and cognitive force.
If you have not turned away from the imagery by this point, consider yourself one of the few, the unbound, the 'ready-to-hear-what-this-weirdo-has-to-say'. Well it is this:
1. Life is paradox.
2. Science is a yearning for the fulcrum of this dualistic machine.
3. All truth is complementary yet non-encompassing.
4. The explanation is n-fold.
5. The monkey is a whirlwind.
I. The Gap
Matter and mind is a good place to start. What is the nature of mind? Matter. Where is matter? Mind. Okay... what? Here we are led into the dreaming hindbrain, the Godchild - we can characterize him. We can also test him. Can we microwave a burrito so hot it is inedible? Can we be the architect of our experience without ruining it? If we press the Surpise button on the Mind machine we can. How do we do it? - If God has the power than God has the power. -

II. Linear Dynamics
Surely God's burrito did not precede The Sun's hydrogen. Or did it? There is no way of knowing. There is only a way of "nowing": following spacetime retrospectively to predict what might happen based on what has. This leads us to:
**THE FABULOUS SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS**
You should be intimately familiar with this one by now. You know from experience that, no matter what, "things fall downhill." This is true no matter how far we stretch the language. Over time, systems reduce organized potential energy into disordered, high entropy states. Never otherwise. Please spare me the cooked egg or shattered glass example, I think we all get the idea. The real question is: Why did the ****ing egg or chicken come into existence in the first ****ing place?
Well you're seriously ****ed now. Seriously. I mean, once Schrodinger got to this point he spontaneously predicted the future of biochemistry, speculating on the existence of complex, self-regulating nucleic crystals (DNA) that allow life to etch out an existence within the apathetically glowing corners of a gloomy, thermodynamically fated mis-universe. Needless to say, this was not a completely satifying answer for the first man to collapse a quantum network.
POINT:
Well the wine is wearing off so to boost your mental enthusiasm for just a moment consider the question of why a highly organized system like a tornado would come into being -
It is to settle the unstable pressure gradient that has arisen in the air into a thermodynamically favored geometry. Too often we ignore the ubiquitous interconnectivity of the system. The only truly closed system is the Universe. The universe is what backs up the 2nd law, not an earthworm or a hurricane, though both adhere to it. Thus the existence of life is explained by the capital pressure of the Universe to settle into a comfortable state.

So assuming you are now comfortable seeing yourself as the not-exactly-lucky by-product of a gradient-reducing, self-replicating spontaneum, are you likewise equally as comfortable con your subtle existence? Does it help to see consciousness as the rare samaritan who stops to hold the hand of Old Mother Photon while she crosses the street to decay into a vanishing ghost of thermal energy?
It should.

There now exists a circular spatio-temporal pathway from here unto negative eternity in both directions: Material and Spiritual. There simply must be a shortest path between these two arcs. If the universe is to end as a meaningless frozen heap then why exist in the first place? If the mind is to ascend into a quantum foam of dream-potential, then why ask electrons to abhor themselves? Perhaps the answer lies in the mechanics of the question. Perhaps we should cease looking forward or backward for answers, and inward instead. The notion of equilibrium entails a rational resolution. But the forces at play are not rational.
