Cures for insomnia?

Since my relationship started going down the toilet I can't get to sleep until the small hours of the morning. I'm exhausted...

Has anyone figured out any cures for insomnia?!

I take two (generic) benadryl every night and sleep great. Costs $4 for 100 pills.

Stop watching television, stop using the computer at least a half an hour before you want to go to sleep. Read some non-fiction. Something interesting but not something that you can't put down. Fiction has too many cliffhangers at the ends of chapters to keep you up all night. Read until your eyes start to get heavy and then make your room as dark as possible. Meditate or just try to think of something relaxing for a few minutes. I know it's hard. But whenever you start thinking of your problems try to stop yourself, make your mind blank or go to some relaxing thought. Turn you clock around so you can't stare at it all night. Most importantly, don't worry if you don't fall asleep right away. If you keep thinking, "I'm never going to get to sleep," you won't. Just try and enjoy some relaxing whether you fall asleep or not and hopefully you will start getting some rest soon.
