I Loved You Once

Dreams of places far away..
Thoughts come back from that day.
Stars shine ever so bright..
Why did I leave that cold night?

I remember you sitting,
asking me please.
Stopped in time,
Like somone said, "freeze!".
You shared your thoughts, hopes, and fears,
and I drove away in tears.

Your eyes full of sorrow,
with no thoughts of tomorrow.
All I wanted,
was your strength to borrow.

I have many thoughts and questions of that night,
I often wish,
You just might.

We shared a love,
that was strong.
Even if it wasn't,
all that long.

Days go by,
and I try to let go.
Everytime I think of you,
the tears just flow.

I know one day,
you will forgive and forget.
But right now,
I am full of regret.

As time goes by,
I feel like a dunce.
All I know,
is that I loved you once.

Ya know one day things will happen right? When youre ready or when youre least expecting it?

You two being there for me is enough, been so great to be able to talk to people like yourselves.
