Sure you can. For one thing, they really do NOT understand normal emotions. They can fake it to some extent, but their reactions aren't always appropriate.

LOL, that's where it came from, but it was because her ex made her go through this whole "proving it" thing all the time... so she knows she doesn't have to prove it to me. I just say "I know." :D

Additionally, you're not talking about the actions of a person you know intimately. You CAN'T live with someone day in and day out and not see through the facade, if they're putting one up.

Words are also the easiest way for someone who's deceitful to fool you. Their actions never can, if you view the scope of them, and not just the details.

I think you need to quit making snap judgements about people based on their looks. You really shouldn't do it based on their words either - just their actions.
