Heartbreak over possible loss of my female friend

Background: we are both in L/T relationships. We met online and became friends. Very good friends. That led to sexual attraction. We are both very much in love with each other.

Now she wants to take a break to see if we will still have the same feelings for each other after a week or two without contact. I mentioned making boundaries so we don't talk about sex but just remain friends.

Anyone ever been in this situation? I have a sad empty feeling without contact with her.

Why don't you breakup with your gf and see if that's the reason why she wants a break.

I agree that you should break up with your girlfriend. The new girl most likely wants to be your girlfriend but is walking away because you're currently taken.
