Getting Over the Past Done Before Dating?

When you get out of a relationship, shouldn't you get over it, and over that past relationship and all of it's issues and problems it consisted of? Before you jump onto the dating scene and date other people? Yes right? Because why enter the dating scene with all of these issues, problems, baggage, etc. You will just bring that new person down with all your concerns etc. So again, shouldn't you be over your ex and past experiences before jumping into a new relationship, let alone dating?

I think people should resolve issues before jumping into another possibly failed relationship but most don't because the fear of being alone is greater than common sense.
