Not in a LONG time, but true. My general rule of thumb is to ignore a-holes on the Internet. If you don't, you will never want to even go on the Internet at all because it seems like a-holes make up the vast majority of the Internet. Message boards are especially a breeding ground for a-holes, which is why I've always been so shocked with how few I've run into here. Occasionally you do find a good place with good peeps, so I am so happy that this is one of them.
However, in the past I have had a few situations like that. The only time it has ever happened to me is when it is at a website/message board/whatever where I actually considered the peeps my friends. At some point, something or other happens, they turn out to be a-holes, do something to upset me, and I've lost it.
Frankly, though, that was in my younger days. Ever since, it isn't like I've never had a similar situations again where I thought people were friends but they turn out just to be jerks.... but I just write them off much more easily these days and don't give it a second thought. They are not worth me getting upset for even a moment, so better to just treat them like the nothing they are.
The person below me has a fantasy job (something not real like a super hero, a Ghostbuster, a wizard, etc) that they would be in a heartbeat if it were actually real.
