LOL being a former gamer (ok I will admit I play but rarly now) I find this really funny. I guess there is some truth. The "geek" or "nerd" even if they do not look the part is severly dominated through out thier school years by jocks and "cute" boys. So after so long of not even catching a girls eye, once it does happen it seems like so much more than it probably would if it had happened back in grade school for them. I for one idolize girls more than I should and I know this but I can't help is latly.

College Studying is gods way of blessing those that are smart lol.

little late, sorry ellyn, but some of us are afraid of commitment, some of us are up for it and willing to go to any length, and some are emo. the descision, you have to accept (i know, as you know i know.) But i'm sure everything will work for the best, because i am assuming you are still young. Obviously your in no hurry, so my best advice is relax, and look at it as his loss, not yours. Good Luck!

    Happy Birthday also

I'm only 19 and I'm not where I thought I would have been. Things are really differen't that they were just 2 years ago. Then I was the youngest of 3 children all living at home with thier parents and :poof: both my brother and sister moved out, one getting married and the other joining the USCG and I have moved out and back and am going to the local community college.

So don't worry 24 is not old and life could change for you in no time.

Most of what I would have said has been said and said again in this thread, so I won't say it again.

The words that stood out to me in your original post were that you 'weren't gonna settle'. Wow, I am so happy to hear those words come out of somebody else's mouth! I completely agree... love, relationships.. they're one of the most monumental decisions in life. Why settle for something less than what you truly want? It'll just end up making you regret settling... and, ultimately, not being happy with that aspect in your life.

It isn't so easy to find someone who is nice, or caring, or respectable and considerate. These people are out there, though. What is INCREDIBLY hard to find is someone with whom you're both compatible with and is the feeling is mutual. I feel as if finding compatible people who are also interested... daunting. It really is, and it's really frustrating, not to mention depressing.

I'm behind you, 100% on your decision. I think you made the right decision. I think you should just keep your eyes open in case something great comes along.

Also, everybody finds someone and gets married at different times. It's hard to not feel a bit left out, especially when your friends are married. Try not to stress, though. You're just waiting for the right guy to come along. And believe me, from the thoughts and posts I've heard from you on this forum, it probably won't take long.

    Best of luck to you.

Yeah, and not to mention you could be missing out an opportunity with someone you could share a real connection with, by being in a relationship you're just settling for and not really THAT compatible with.
