Getting there.

First texture run. Working on Lights and adding more depth to the textures. This is for my Environments and Layout class. Also working on adding my trees, benches, and extra busy "stuff" to the scene.

Comments welcome.

That looks very impressive!

How do you map out the textures? what do you use?

This was my first time using a multi-layer subobject for textures, all within 3ds Max. Basically it's just regular UVW mapping, except it's supposed to be a lot easier. You go through, select all of the polygons and then assign them individually to a specific target texture. You do all of this within 1 single object. This is easier because instead of having 20 confusing texture slots they are divided by color and polyons, so it is easier to keep up with.

Other than that, I just assigned a few different textures. I made some, "borrowed" some others. Most of them had some post work done in Photoshop to make sure they fit.

The part about this project I really didn't like was that we werent able to make the Background or the skylights and backgrounds. This is why the entire area around the scene is black. It's going to fit into a huge model with everyone else in the class' models.

Either way I think it turned out ok

Wtf is that?
Those textures are like crap, easy 2D, probably done by using some cheap photoshop plugins and filters... better draw them!
Models suck even more. What are those green.. pieces of..., ah, trees?

Havent seen that awful rendering for a long time.

I can certainly do better than you, just watch and learn: http://www.zone.ee/pixeldaja/vanasokolaadivankermillelpuuduvadrattadjamisonyhes tykis.jpg?2
Don't expect anything.
