    openness

i am a shy guy, but once i get to know someone im 100% open. this includes talking about sex, a lot of people get freaked out about this, they assume im a sexual predator and what not. is it bad to be this open?

im assuming there is a time and place for it. what would they be?

i hit the 'reply' icon, and 'this' page opened up, for me to write my post. but now i have nothing to say, so please disregard this post, you sexual predator....lol.

i think you are a normal guy. time and place, probably when you are with someone you love and trust, and won't think you are a wierdo, because they allready know you long enough.

You say "a lot of people get freaked out" - who exactly are you discussing sex in detail with? Co-workers? School kids? Church groups?

My rule of thumb is to avoid discussing your sex life in any detail with anyone other than your partner (or a therapist). Details should be kept to yourself since they involve another person who may have a greater need for privacy than you do.

Talking about sex is normal. Is that all you talk about? Are you talking about sexual experiences or just sex in general?

I don't see anything odd about it but if people are offended by it maybe they think that's all you think and talk about it. Other than I think it's perfectly acceptable to be open about things.

hahaha... you make it seem as though you're the only person in this world with a sexual desire. that is qutie a common thing you know. secondly, it's not bad that you're shy at first then later you open up to people. i think that most people are that way.

I think a lot of ppl have problems with openess in general. Esp. regarding things that touch on sensitive or emotional issues, including sex.

Lots of folks have trouble working out their own shIt, so they definitely can't handle hearing about anyone elses, probably 'cause it reminds them of their own issues they aren't dealing with.

If you happen to be one of these ppl who IS more open, you'll be lucky to find 1-2 ppl in your life that you can be completely yourself around. Unfortunately, the rest of society will require that "comfortable facade". So, if and when you find those rare individuals, treat them like the rare gold that they are.
