Mmmm. Finesse in argument is an acquired skill, I agree. Requires a presence of mind regarding ones goal as well as experience on what works and what doesn't. Practice makes perfect, tho, and some are just a little farther ahead on that particular curve than others, is all.

Miso, your comment is true. Not surprising in the slightest. Sometimes, tho, I wish that I _were_ surprised a little more. I have to constantly remind myself NOT to become a cynic...

I think the only reason some people are shocked is because the Palestinian people stand to lose so much economic aid because of this election.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I am hoping that Hamas will find itself forced more to the center. That is what has happened to all the Israeli hard-liners who have been elected: they have had to move to the center to be taken seriously and to make any diplomatic progress...

i think, as is their nature, they'll make it look like they're going to disarm, and they'll just keep their little attacks on the low.

I am going with a group of 50 (taking my daughter, too). I am looking forward to it, but I am still a little nervous about going. I will do it, though, unless things get so bad that the trip is cancelled. I am going to take Xanax on the flight and drink vodka. That should keep me happy. I wish I could get a martini, though.

I wish I could do that, but I can't in front of my daughter...

EDIT: haha - misombra's post beat mine. This was supposed to be in response to RSK...

....actually, i was sitting next to a distant cousin. i hardly knew the guy. he must have been like, "i'm related to this guy?"

i kept leaning over his shoulder, and used it as a headrest, he must have felt wierd.

Actually, it is just making the premises lead to a valid conclusion while making sure the entire argument is sound.

    LF people's logic:

Premise A: People who talk to much are dumb.
Premise B: LF people talk to much.
    ---
Conclusion C: LF people are dumb

Valid? Yes...sound? no, People put up some good valid arguments here but they are using "feelings" (like calling me coldblooded). The fact that feelings are relative and subjective make it all not sound. I put up an argument and at the end same thing happens as always, and thats people resorting to calling my posts out of "wack" and calling me a kid.

Some times the purpose of people like me is to simply show the other side, to provide evidence of it's existance.
