If the same thing is always happening, maybe you ought to consider that everyone else has a point?
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Insults never have a point except to be an excuse for losing an argument.

Of course not, the only people who would even mention that are people who instantly jump towards the most retarded offense against cultural relativism. Seriouly, are you retarded? Here's a counter conondrum, is it justified if I kill every person on the planet who has AIDS, some 500 million people, because it is, on net-balance, an overall saving of lives due to the AIDS that doesn't spread?

We can all think of retarded extremes, Vashti. If you want to have a real discussion, try and let go of them.

The funny part is that cultural relativism holds that different cultures have different deontological frameworks, people who disagree with cultural relativism believe that ALL cultures should share THEIR deontological framework.

The definition of philosophy is glaring problems. But genocide is not something that is even remotely related to cultural relativism. If you adopt a non-culturally relative framework, you can be just as likely to be a Nazi. In fact, the Nazi's are the opposite of culturally relativist, since they believe their culture is superior to all and that other cultures must be exterminated.

People who make these attacks against cultural relativism never bother to understand the most simple underlying principle of cultural relativism: autonomy. Cultural relativism holds that no one can understand what is truly right and wrong, only that different people/groups have different ideologies. In order to have a functioning world, we need to respect or 'let live' other ideologies. This does not mean that if they begin destroying other cultures that it is justified because they believe in it, in fact, that would be the opposite since their beliefs fracture cultural relativism and destroy the autonomy that is key to having any discourse.

And before someone starts asking retarded hypotheticals regarding autonomy: autonomy is the right to self-determination and self-action, it is not the right to deny/steal these from others. I.e., your right to swing your first ends where my nose begins.

German losses sustained at the Eastern Front were at a 90% mark, painting US and Britain as sole victors of the war as nothing but a myth. However it's always funny to watch an odd US citizen make a comment like "If it wasn't for us you'd all be wearing swastikas" Though Saving Private Ryan was a great movie!!

Damn, who bumped this stupid thread?

Mishayna - I should have been more explicit in stating 12 million civilians were executed by the Nazis. Anyway, I am guessing you knew that was what I meant.

MVP - I would love to continue arguing with you, but I am too busy at the moment, and frankly bored with this topic already.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

7 to 17 Million civilians are estimated to have been killed during WW2 in the Soviet Union Alone. But it's okay, I agree with the point you were making

Saying that what the Nazi people did was wrong is like saying "BOO NAZI STUFF". While I also personally think it was bad and I say boo nazis, I at least dont kidd myself and lie to myslef by thinking that it is anything more then opinion.
