Mostly I meet people through friends. Through activities and clubs that I've joined.

Guy I've just been on a date with I met at a play.
I met a guy last night at a bar that was really sweet and I'm happy to date him too. He lives in another town so not necessarily great, but oh so cute.

I once met a guy at a fundraising event that a friend dragged me along to. He ended up there because he and his buddy were walkign by on the street and some girl dragged him into it. I approached him because a) he was cute b) he also looked like he didn't know too many people.

You sorta have to be open to the experience of meeting people. Not every approach becomes a date, not every date a relationship.

Now, that's for meeting people. I'm good at the meeting people and dating stuff. It is the maintaining a relationship part I seem to fall short in!

    Fixed this for you:

Guy I've just been on a date with I met at a play, while he was out on "guys night out" leaving his loving and devoted girlfriend at home, whilst he was out leg-humping....

    Lloyd, you're a f**king ass**le.

I resent that comment about my ex who stands on her feet 8 or more hours a day, dealing with all kinds of bullshit from customers to make a living for she and her little son. And she does a damn good job at it with no help from anyone.

Also, I always thought that only white trash line-danced. SHE doesn't. Thankfully.

Oh well, it's only the internet.

    You're funny.

Although I pretend to me white trash; I'm not. Aspiring white trash. Anyway, I've been line dancing regularly for 10yrs.

Line dancing = Country Dancing != White Trash Dancing.
"Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror, cause I get better loking each day. To know me is to love me, I must be a hell of a man. Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, but I'm doing the best that I can." Mac Davis

No offense please TAVS, it wasn't directed at you at all.

I just thought Lloyd's white trash comment directed at someone because they work at Walmart showed no class. Pissed me off.

I agree . . . I don't like to take sides generally, but I do find this to be pretty insulting. I know everyone feels differently about the topic, but I myself try not to judge others based on their occupation. Hell, I know a guy who just graduated a prestigious university summa cum laude, and is now working construction because, at least for the time being, he's had enough of academia. Not that I would necessarily endorse that plan, but at the same time, I give him credit for at least putting in a hard day's work.

I used to work manual labor the summer after high school and the summer following my first year in college. Maybe this experience sort of helped shape my perception on other people, or maybe I'm just a wuss when it comes to this or whatever, but it's not cool to denigrate someone based on what they do for a living (especially if they're supporting a child).

Anyway, that being said, to the OP, I've found one of the best places to meet nice normal girls is in classes. It seems like at your age you're either just finishing college, or have been out of high school for a while and working, so either way, that might not present a viable option for you. A lot of other people have made good suggestions here.

Thank you RogerWilco. That comment from Lloyd WAS uncalled for and really pissed me off. She works damn hard and not only for the money to pay the rent but for the health insurance (yes Walmart provides) for her kid too.

For the record she's a college grad and was enrolled in veternerian (spl?) school before she got pregnant.

    More power to her.

well i work at a job that is the equivalent of cashier at walmart, perhaps a step or two below, and i'm proud of what i do. i consider myself lucky that i even have a decent job with benefits in a world where most are starving or working 20 hour days for mere change.

damn straight. Most people in USA are better off than those poor people in nations of poverty.

Oh man, I just read that, sorry dude....all the good ones are taken...though I have found out that some like to experiment outside of the relationship. Good luck.

You will find a girl over time if you want it to be special. Love isnt something you can go to the local market to find, it takes time to grow before you and a person love eachother. The only way love at first sight would work is if your only in it for looks.
