Im so confused

hi, im 17 and throughout the year at my high school i have liked this girl who is in 2 of my classes. Everytime im in these classes she always has sly looks at me and flicks her hair, she also brushes up to me sometimes and im totally convinced she likes me, i try to talk as much as i can and when i do she seems very interested in me. However i got my mate to ask her out for me and said that she would rather get to know me, then she might go out with me and she told my mate to give me her msn address so i could chat to her. When i got in that day she had added me and everytime i sign on she instantly is saying "hey" but within 5 mins she says that she has to go and signs off? i dont understand how a girl who is really attracted to me would rather turn me down, than go out with me which i believe she really wanted? She is going on holiday tommorow and i probally wont see her all summer! Is this girl attracted to me? what is going on inside her head? what should i do?
