I'm not a rules-person. ok, so there are some common-sense things like don't call someone all day non stop, or don't just disappear etc, but in general I say call him when you feel like it. Ask him to hang out when you feel like it. Some people will now say "nooo if you ask him to hang out before so and so long, you'll look desperate" or whatever, but I don't think it matters, unless he is a very rule-aware person, that'll be the last thing on his mind. From what you've said I think he definitely likes you.
Oh, and just cos his friend didn't mention him mentioning you doesn't mean anything. Well, except that it tells me you're too shy to tell him how you feel and are in fact so shy you'd rather sneak around asking his friends. Me and my bf told each other we liked each other within a few days of first meeting each other.

I'm very shy when it comes to guys. I have no problem going up to them and striking up a conversation, but when it comes to how I feel about them, it's near impossible for me to come out and say something. I'll drop every single hint in the book but never once will come out and say "Hey, I like you." I usually wait for him to do so. But anyway, I talked to him last night online and mentioned something about hanging out this weekend. At first he sounded all for it. Then about ten minutes later "hey hold on" and he left. I haven't talked to him since. Should I think something of it?

either he's a jerk for just leaving the chat, or someone walked in the door or rang the phone and he couldn't get back to the computer. No biggie. He should apologise for leaving suddenly though. If you still want to hang out, just ring him or messge him asking if you're still on for the weekend.

Sure; I have done this several times recently becuase I can tell my wireless is going bad and I just simply can't get on or something else comes up where I can't get back... Honestly; take up sewing or reading a book or something You have NOTHING to worry about!
