Oral sex with someone who has a yeast infection can lead to thrush, which is basically an oral version of a yeast infection. If you are having symptoms, you need to see a doctor to get antibiotics.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I understood 'Thrush' was in fact a vaginal infection

No, Thrush is oral. I remember learning about it when my daughter was born from one of those "All the Shit That Can Go Wrong With Your Baby" books.

It's a fungal infection, and I can see how it could have a correlation to VYI's.

thrush is "candidiasis of the oral cavity" so giga's right, though it's probably true that the word is often used interchangeably since it's pretty much the same thing.

and Z, trust me, if megan had a yeast infection, she would not feel like having oral at all.

Hmmm....so maybe if a male partner had thrush in their mouth and didn't know (I don't know if this is possible...I can only imagine how it might feel to have a yeast infection in your mouth), and he gave oral sex to a female partner, the yeast bacteria could be passed that way....

I suppose. It can happen in/on any moist folds of skin, even finger webbing/toes/etc. Thrush "appears as white patches in the mouth or can affect the esophagus, making it difficult to swallow" so I assume it must be very noticeable.
Scarily enough, it is "one of the most frequent early symptoms or signs of an immune disorder, such as HIV." Though mostly (from what i've read) it occurs pretty much by itself with no big scary underlying cause.

    How to prevent it:
avoid lots of sugar, yeast (duh), wheat, caffeine and tobacco.. eat yoghurt, the type with live cultures. brush your teeth, floss, use mouthwash. wear cotton underwear, and don't use those feminine hygiene products that are scented.

"A dairy product that's the result of milk that has fermented and coagulated because it's been invaded by friendly bacteria. This can be accomplished naturally by keeping the milk at about 110°F for several hours. The end result is a creamy-textured yogurt with an astringent, slightly tart taste"

and yoghurt is just the european spelling.
