Girlfriend Update

Do you know how much it sucks to be seperated from the one you love? How about be forcefully seperated by people who don't want you together?

This is my situation; her mother forced a breakup. The girl doesn't even know why. We are both hurt by the situation. This isn't what we wanted, and neither of us are happy this way.

It is unfair to her that her mom takes her cell phone away, won't let her get on the computer, or go hang out with friends, just to prevent her from contacting me.

The relationship has grown stronger though; we started talking at school, and talking whenever we get a chance. Her mom has no idea that she overreacted to a situation that wasn't even there.

Fortunately, love never fails, as the saying goes. One of her relatives that she didn't know, has died, and her parents are out of state right now. We plan to see eachother tonight. We know we are risking it, but not necessarily what.

I am wondering if we are breaking any laws by doing this. Can her parents enforce a restraining order on me? When I turn 18 (she is 16) is it illegal for her to hang out with me or see me?

Wish my luck, in hopes that things will turn out good.

What would be breaking the law? I need to know all the risks. Anything that would get me thrown in jail is not worth it.

Talking to a lawyer will get you versed in many of the laws & loopholes. Talking to a bunch of forum-goers from all across the US (and world at large) won't enlighten you nearly as much, if at all.

Good point. I feel uncomfortable talking to a lawyer about something like this... Maybe I will. My counselor says that by sneaking around and hanging out is not illegal. Even if I am 18, but maybe he is wrong. It's google time.

I think the illegalities, if any exist, would be much more a concern if you were much older than her, but you aren't. It's only a couple of years, you've just broken up. Do you think a judge is going to take legal action against you for seeing her seriously? And if they did actually get a restraining order, would it really change what they've already imposed?

If you're talking about sex, there are some loopholes in terms of what constitutes as statutory rape. But that probably depends upon your state. There are plenty of relationships between 16 and 18 year olds and the law is aware of this. In any case, if her parents did try to pin that on you, they would need some kind of proof. Their only proof would be your girlfriend. And I doubt she would accuse you of such a thing.

The legal age for sex is 16 in South Dakota. I am not sure what the other clauses are, but I don't intend on having sex.

We don't smoke weed or drink. (but I do drink wine on special occasion with the boys. But she is against drinking, and I won't drink around her)

her mom knows that we had sex. She knows of two times, because she had to get the pill for her. I doubt that the girl would testify that if we ever went to court, and her mom wouldn't put the girl through that. Her dad doesn't even know. Nobody knows but the mom. And they can't really prove it.

I went to her house after youth group. I parked in an alley behind her house, incase her parents were keeping eyes on her. I was greeted by her at the door. There was a long embraceful hug, and then we sat at the couch and talked.

We snuggled, and told eachother how we love. How we miss eachother. A hug turned into a kiss, and the kiss turned into making out. Needless to say, things almost got out of hand.

I think she wanted something to happen; she was wearing her sexy pajamas, which is a silky robe, that only covers like 3 inches of her legs. She was wearing some of her sexiest lingerie. She put the moves on.

The farthest it went was me giving her oral. She had to leave for her grandma's house, because her parents were out of state. She had to stay over there for the night, and she was 2 hours late.
