need some help with this girl

Ok well Ive been friends with this girl for a few years now, we havent been really close friends but i talk to her occsionally, but a couple years ago i know she used to really like me but i wasnt really into her at the time. A year went by i didnt talk to her to much. Now this year Ive started to really like her. I talked to her often when she was in my class then she got moved and I see her around but i dont usually approach her when shes with friends (the majority of the time) but when she isnt with friends and I see her shell say hi and talk to me alittle. I think she still likes me but she gives me mixed signals so i dont know. Ill be talking with friends and look to where she is and catch her looking at me. But other times she ignores me. She isnt kinda shy but she is giving me so many mixed signals i dont know what to think. I dont usually make eye contact with her but when i do she smiles but she never seems to talk to me. I dont really like to talk to her when shes with friends because i dont really know them. I dont know what to do. I try and catch her alone but she is always with friends when i see her. What should i do? Im confused =\

Well she surfs but i dont... she snowboards and i do but its uhh 90 degrees out =\ idk what kinda music shes into. Should i ask her to a movie or something or not yet ?

Just to let you know, the chances of her holding onto 'liking you' over the course of a few years is pretty slim. But it doesn't mean that she could never like you 'again'. So go for it!
