The concept of "deserving" something

I think there are basic things that all people deserve. Inalienable rights, if you will.

Beyond that, it's kind of a crapshoot, and things can happen so randomly that the word "deserve" ceases to even apply.

I think you're tried to make a point and failed at it.

That was just describing how I felt when I played pool yesterday. Very very loosely applied to this thread but it didn't need its own thread
