    J-Dramas

Does anybody watch them? Illusional maybe? I'm currently watching 1 litre of tears and it's amazing. Here's a description of the program:

"This beautifully moving drama is based on the real-life struggles of a 15-year-old girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The script is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Litre of Tears" has sold over 1.1 million copies in Japan alone.

Fifteen year old Ikeuchi Aya was just a normal girl, soon to be high school student and daughter of a family who works at a shop that makes tofu. As time passed, unusual things started happening to Aya lately. She started falling down often and walks in a strange way. Her mother Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration - a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind in the least. How will Aya react when told about her disease? And how will Aya live from now on?"

A bit lengthy, but it really is a great watch.

I have never heard of it. Perhaps it is only shown in the U.K.?
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Haha yeah, it is really good. Very sad.

Vashti --- It hasn't aired in the UK. It's only been broadcasted in Japan and other Asian countries in their respective languages. You can pretty much stream this drama online.

Ehh. A soap opera? I'd rather shoot my own foot off.

Nope, I don't. They're subtitled. It's a good learning aid though, I often find myself going "Yeah, I understood that!".

Illusional --- Thanks for the link! Can you recommend any good dramas Illusional? At the moment, I'm watching 1 litre and Hana yori dango (which is also very good, bit girly though).

i havfe hana yori dango, but i didn't get to watch it yet. as for the dramas.. that depends on what you're into. funny, action, mystery or that lovey dovey shit. personally, i mostly watch comedy and the love stories... i'm a sucker for the cute actresses.

anyways... the best i have seen are probably...

    long vacation
    orange days
    pride
    shota no sushi
tokyo love story... (old movie but one of the best)
    mukashi no otoka (ex lover)

other good ones that are liked by many, however i wasn't too thrilled by are...

    beautiful life
    heaven's coin 1 & 2. don't get 3 because it's a completely different story
    love generation
    good luck

shit, there's too many too list.. however, check out that site and look for ones that date from 06 and back. they should be easier to find as opposed to the newer ones.

Haha, that looks like some old school drama! Is it good?

EDIT: I hope it isn't sad. 1 litre of tears is sad enough.
