Basically love is emotional lust? And therefore, there is no love.

Don't expect anything.
I am beginning to think it's purely subjective. Like practically everything in life. I too, am on the verge of believing that all "love" relationships are merely born out of lust, and then it is the person who later becomes attached to the other for other reasons....calling it love. I don't know if we try to convince ourselves, get comfortable, or what it is. I am 26 and have never been able to have a relationship for over a year or two without falling in lust with someone else. I dunno. I've been with my current guy for 4 years but am another guy's "mistress", although there has been no sex. I don't know what to believe anymore.
Love is a choice, lust isn't. You don't usually choose who you lust for, you just do.
Sometimes, tho, love can be strong enough that it almost feels like there is no choice, but there always is. Even with non-romantic bonds like children & family.
FWIW
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.
